Court Records: Planned Parenthood abortionist horribly mistreated her patients

Mark Crutcher, head of Life Dynamics, cites the following case in his book Lime 5:

“A female abortionist (a member of the NAF and director of a Planned Parenthood facility) seems to enjoy seeing abortion patients suffer. According to a suit filed against her, after telling a patient to “drop your pants and get up on the table,” she performed an abortion without anesthesia. When the patient screamed in pain, the abortionist told her to shut up or they would gag her and have her “put in a psycho ward.” She then had a nurse hold her hand over the patient’s mouth. After the ordeal, the abortionist said, “Here are your pants, put them on and get out of here. This will make you think twice before having sex without contraception.” The patient said she saw at least one other woman who was hysterical in the recovery room, crawling on her hands and knees and screaming uncontrollably.”

Abortionist is a “capitalist” and a “crusader”

From abortionist Tommy Tucker.

“It started out as a financial thing. But I got heavy into the [abortion rights] movement and realized there was a lot of need for physicians.”

From the author of the article this was taken from:

“Dr. Tucker considers himself as much a capitalist as a crusader and says he makes about $200,000 a year… He hopes income from all 6 clinics will eventually push his annual income to $700,000.”

Tucker says:

“My income will go up, but I earn it. I work hard for what I do, and I am proud of what I do.”

The article described him as an avid gambler. He said:

“There’s something about when you walk in and you hear the one armed bandits going cha –ching, cha–ching,” he said on a recent Tuesday night before losing $1500,” I love the action.”

Jim Yardley “Abortion Doctor Says It’s the Cause, and the Cash, that Keep Him Driving” (Atlanta, Georgia) Journal May 16, 1993

At the time of the article, he had been sued at least 10 times for botched abortions, but had no malpractice insurance. He later lost his license for botching an abortion so severely the patient died, and, what’s worse, leaving her bleeding and dying in the care of a clinic worker with no medical training. This clinic worker, who had never been to medical school, was also performing abortions at his clinic and inserting IUDs. There were many complications. Tucker was also accused of killing a baby born alive after an abortion procedure. A number of clinic workers claimed that they’d seen him kill the infant, and Joy Davis, the clinic worker who unsuccessfully tried to save the life of the injured woman, says that Tommy Tucker admitted to her that he killed the baby. Authorities investigated, but they could never find a body, so they were never able to press charges against him. You can read testimony from a clinic worker who worked with him here.

Pictures show filthy conditions at Michigan abortion clinic

Women’s Medical Services in Muskegon, Michigan was closed in December of 2012 when fire marshals found horrible conditions there. The report, which can be read here.  found 11 violations including “unsterilised medical equipment”, “combustible materials stored near ignition sources” and “hazardous materials not stored in cabinets.”

Here are some pictures of the clinic:

Remember, this clinic was doing SURGERY. Women were exposed to these filthy conditions.

Still think clinics don’t need to be licensed, regulated, or inspected? Still think there is no need for laws saying that they must meet the minimum requirements for other surgical facilities?

Abortion safety consultant OKs clinic with 17 pages of health violations

LifeNews describes terrible conditions found in one abortion clinic:

A June 1, 2012 inspection of the Amethyst Health Center for Women in Manassas found 17 pages of deficiencies including infection prevention citations, storage and dispensing of drugs citations, quality assurance citations, maintenance citations, and local and state code standards citations.

Even more disturbing:

Incredibly, this came just two months after a 3/27/2012 meeting of the abortion center’s “Quality Assurance Committee” including “Administrator/Owner, Medical Director/Physician, Counselor, LPN, CNA, and a consultant” concluded, “The staff was polled regarding any concerns about patient care and nothing was identified … No concerns have been identified and no measures need to be implemented at this time by the Quality Assurance Committee.”

Illinois Abortion clinic loses license

In a June 6-8 inspection 2011, The Illinois Department of public health suspended the license of the abortion clinic in Rockford, Northern Illinois Women’s Center. They found:

“The facility did not ensure the presence of a registered nurse in the operating room during all invasive and operative procedures.

The facility did not ensure the presence of a registered nurse to direct and supervise the nursing personnel and the nursing care of patients.

The facility did not ensure that either of the two physicians on staff have and maintain surgical practice privileges with an Illinois-licensed hospital.

The facility did not have a written agreement with a laboratory that possesses a valid clinical laboratory improvement amendment certificate to perform any lab work that is not performed at the facility.”

All these deficiencies could compromise patient care. Without admitting privileges, it is more difficult to have a patient transferred to the ER if there is a problem. Without an agreement with a laboratory, abortion remains cannot be properly examined after they are removed from the woman’s body. Failure to have a pathologist inspect the remains would keep the clinic from knowing whether or not the entire baby and placenta were removed. Any parts left behind could cause a serious infection. Also, examining the abortion remains is the only way to screen for eptopic pregnancy, which if left untreated undetected, can cause fatal bleeding.

“According to the notice, the department “found conditions at (the Northern Illinois Women’s Center) that are directly threatening to the public interest, health, safety and welfare requiring immediate, emergency action.”

Corina Curry “Rockford abortion clinic’s license suspended indefinitely” Rockford Register Star, September 30, 2011

The problems found in the Rockford abortion clinic were extremely minor compared to some of the horrible conditions found in other clinics. Read about some of these clinics here, as well as efforts from pro-choice groups to regulate and inspect abortion clinics

Alabama Bureau of Health Provider Standards proposes regulations after abortion clinics found operating under dangerous conditions

After one abortion clinic was closed permanently in June and serious health violations were found in several others, the Alabama Bureau of Health Provider Standards has proposed new regulations governing abortion clinics.

One clinic, New Woman All Women Health Care in Birmingham, agreed to go on probation in November after “inspectors found patients weren’t given preoperative medication on time, the clinic hadn’t verified whether pregnancy tests and ultrasound tests were conducted and, in the most serious violation, the clinic’s administrator had ordered and diverted narcotics such as hydrocodone for her own use,” according to the News.

Pro-Life News in Brief. National Right to Life News December 1, 2006

Planned Parenthood and other pro-choice groups vehemently oppose any regulation of clinics, claiming such regulations would drive abortion clinics out of business. Meanwhile, many abortion clinics are dangerous and have injured and even killed women.

Pro-choice demonstraters rally to protect abortionist arrested for sexually abusing woman

Former clinic worker Luhra Tivis, who worked with Dr. Tiller, describes what happened when she attended a pro-life demonstration and blockade of an abortion clinic (a “Rescue”) at the clinic of a certain abortionist:

“I agreed with Rescue’s nonviolent tactics and participated in a Rescue on July 19, 1993, with the Lambs of Christ, in Oklahoma City. The focus of our action, Mr. Patel, had become infamous in 1992 for dumping the bodies of dead children in a field near Shawnee, Oklahoma. A month or two before our Rescue, however, Patel had outdone himself. He had been arrested for sexually molesting a woman as she came out from under the anesthesia after an abortion. His medical license had not been suspended, however. As we knelt down in position for a rescue, a large “pro-choice” crowd jammed the sidelines, vociferously advocating the right of Mr. Patel to do business as he saw fit – whether it was killing babies. Or, I suppose, molesting women. They call that support for women’s rights!”

Abortionist and convicted sex offender Brian Finkel taunts pro-lifer with sexist comments

In an interview, abortionist Brian Finkel, described how he taunted a pro-life demonstrator that he had nicknamed “Beer Belly”:

“I go, ‘Hey, Beer Belly, I want you to know that if your wife ever needs an abortion, I’ll do one for free.  Not because I’m a nice guy, but just because I want to get between her l-e-e-e-e-gs.’”

Trash-talking abortionist Dr. Brian Finkel has a message for pro-life zealots: “Kiss My Ass.” Phoenix New Times June 17, 1999

He was later convicted of sexually assaulting women who came in for abortions at his clinic.

NOW Ignores Complaints about Dr. George Tiller

“Luhra Tivis was disturbed at events at Dr. Tiller’s clinic. “When I went to the leaders in NOW in Wichita, and told them what was going on, they said, we agree with you, but we can’t rock the boat.” She says that a woman from the local chapter of NOW wrote a piece for the newsletter criticizing Tiller, but they pulled it. They said they were not going to rock the boat. NOW is not normally known for being reticent about rocking the boat where women’s welfare is concerned.”
