Medically induced abortion in the second trimester: Video

This video shows Dr. Byron Calhoun, a board certified obgyn, examining the bodies of two babies aborted by a medically induced labor with prostaglandin in the second trimester.

If the babies are bruised all over their bodies by contractions, try to imagine how painful those contractions must be for the mother. Normal labor is extremely painful and the contractions are far less severe.  This is an excruciatingly painful method of abortion for both the mother and baby which can take hours to accomplish.

You can see the grimace of pain on the face of the second, 18-20 week old baby.

There is one other way abortions are done in the second trimester, the D&E.

Baby Charlie, aborted at 20 weeks

911 Babies recently shared a picture of Baby Charlie, a twenty week old (allegedly) aborted baby.

baby charlie 20 weeks

Here is the story that was shared:

“Baby Charlie was aborted at about 20 weeks of gestation. All his organs were functioning; he just needed time to grow. A pathologist gave him to pastors Norn Stone and Jerry Horn in 1986. They gave the baby to me at the Pensacola march that year. I carried him across America and brought him into churches. The reaction was horror. Many wept, and many cursed me. We buried him in Milton, FL several months later. I couldn’t take any more. He needed the dignity of a burial. I will never forget this little boy. He had one finger that pointed out as if to ask, “Where were you when I was led away to slaughter?” I’ll see you in heaven, baby Charlie”

 Penny Lea

Because of the condition of the body, I would estimate that he was aborted by the prostaglandin method, in which the prostaglandin is given by IV or vaginal suppository and forces a woman’s body to go into labor. he may have been injected with poison to prevent a live birth. This method was often used in the mid 1980s. Bruises on the baby’s body imply that labor was traumatic, possibly indicating this type of abortion, which caused what doctors referred to as “tetanic” contractions, which were very strong contractions that are continuous and could damage the baby severely (as well as being very painful for the mother) Another possibility is saline, a salt solution injected into the womb that burns the outer layer of skin. Because there are no visible burns, this was may not have been the method used.  Urea, which is another poison, is also a possible cause of death.

Formalin solution is commonly used in abortion clinics to prevent the baby’s from rotting and causing odors in the clinic. This or formaldehyde may have preserved the body. The gray skin is compatible with such preservatives.

I cannot verify from the picture that this is not a stillbirth. Nor have I personally interviewed the writer of the story. Therefore, I cannot state with total certainty that her story is true. But in a stillbirth, the cord is usually cut close to the body. The bruising on the skin is also inconsistent with a stillbirth.

Take from it what you will.

3rd trimester abortion to save a woman’s life?

Dr. Anthony Levantino, former abortionist, explains how abortion in the third trimester is never needed to save a woman’s life. He explains that abortion this late requires three days to perform- the cervix must be dilated over a period three days. He explains:

“In cases where a pregnancy places a woman in danger of death or grave physical injury, a doctor more often than not doesn’t have 36 hours, much less 72 hours, to resolve the problem.

Let me illustrate with a real-life case that I managed while at the Albany Medical Center. A patient arrived one night at 28 weeks gestation with severe pre-eclampsia or toxemia. Her blood pressure on admission was 220/160.

A normal blood pressure is approximately 120/80. This patient’s pregnancy was a threat to her life and the life of her unborn child. She could very well be minutes or hours away from a major stroke.

This case was managed successfully by rapidly stabilizing the patient’s blood pressure and “terminating” her pregnancy by Cesarean section. She and her baby did well. This is a typical case in the world of high-risk obstetrics.

In most such cases, any attempt to perform an abortion “to save the mother’s life” would entail undue and dangerous delay in providing appropriate, truly life-saving care. During my time at Albany Medical Center

I managed hundreds of such cases by “terminating” pregnancies to save mother’s lives. In all those cases, the number of unborn children that I had to deliberately kill was zero.”

Testimony of Anthony Levatino, MD, JD before the Subcommittee on the Constitution, Committee on the Judiciary, U.S. House of Representatives on The District of Columbia Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (H.R. 3803) May 17, 2012

Abortion at 5 months: Pictures, Facts

Abortion at 5 months is legal in most US states and some other countries. Most abortions at 5 months are done for elective (not medical) reasons

Here is a picture of an unborn baby at 5 months (20 weeks)in the womb. Keep scrolling to see pictures of abortion at 5 months. Please be warned that these pictures are very graphic.

abortion at 5 months

Here is a quote from a doctor who performed abortion at 5 months. He is now pro-life.

“A second trimester D&E abortion is a blind procedure. The baby can be in any orientation or position inside the uterus. Picture yourself reaching in with the Sopher clamp and grasping anything you can. At twenty weeks gestation, the uterus is thin and soft so be careful not to perforate or puncture the walls. Once you have grasped something inside, squeeze on the clamp to set the jaws and pull hard – really hard. You feel something let go and out pops a fully formed leg about 4 to 5 inches long. Reach in again and grasp whatever you can. Set the jaw and pull really hard once again and out pops an arm about the same length. Reach in again and again with that clamp and tear out the spine, intestines, heart and lungs.

The toughest part of a D&E abortion is extracting the baby’s head. The head of a baby that age is about the size of a plum and is now free floating inside the uterine cavity. You can be pretty sure you have hold of it if the Sopher clamp is spread about as far as your fingers will allow. You will know you have it right when you crush down on the clamp and see a pure white gelatinous material issue from the cervix. That was the baby’s brains. You can then extract the skull pieces. If you have a really bad day like I often did, a little face may come out and stare back at you.”

Abortion at 4 months: Pictures

Here is some information on abortion at 4 months as well as pictures of abortion at 4 months. First, here are pictures of what a four month pregnancy looks like:

abortion at 4 months

abortion at 4 months

Before you look at the pictures of what an abortion at 4 months look like, I want to share something with you. If you are woman considering an abortion at 4 months, and you came to this page wanting to find out more, I want talk to you from the heart and share some information with you you might not know.  If you are not a woman seeking an abortion at 4 months, and/or don’t want to read my message just scroll down to see the pictures.

First I want to tell you a little more about your baby. I’m getting this info from the site Endowment for Human Development, a scientific website which has footage from National Geographic. It has no ties to the prolife movement.

he baby inside you has had a beating heart for 11 weeks now. He or she has brain that is giving off waves.   Your baby responds to touch and will how a startle reaction when he or she is touched with something.  The baby will pull away and react when the abortion instruments come at her. Some scientists believe she can feel the pain of being ripped apart. She can have the hiccups. She is already right or left handed. She has lungs and “breathes” amniotic fluid to practice for breathing air when she is born. If she is a girl she has ovaries and a uterus of her own. Believe it or not, he or she not only has hands and fingers, but also fingerprints. These fingerprints mark her as a unique individual who has never existed before in all of history and will never exist again. Her lungs are developing and she breathes amniotic fluid.

Jewels Green worked in an abortion clinic. She held women’s hands, watched women cry as they had their abortions. And in the backroom, she handled the broken pieces of the babies, holding the aborted babies’ feet up to a little chart to verify how far along the pregnancies were for the clinic’s paperwork. Even in the 1st trimester, many of the babies were fully  formed, like the pictures you just saw. She told me that after each abortion, she had to look through the torn apart remains and make sure there were two arms, two legs, one head ,etc. Any parts left behind could cause an infection in the mother.  In a book by pro-choice author Wendy Simonds called Abortion at Work, clinic worker “Risa’ says:

“I hate it when people put it [the aborted fetus] together to look like a baby. I hate that…

On page 86-87 of the same book, Simonds says all the clinic workers she interviewed told her “they never look at the face” when processing ’tissue’ from abortions.

Right now you may feel frightened, worried and alone. I don’t know your situation, but I know there are places out there that can help you. There are these places called Crisis Pregnancy Centers. These centers exist all over the world. They can help with all kinds of things. The one in my town providers counseling, help finding medical care, a place to live if the woman is homeless, baby clothes, maternity clothes, cribs, diapers, information about applying for benefits if you choose to, job training, help finding a job, and even day care.

Also, most of these places will do an ultrasound. Most abortion clinics will do an ultrasound too, but they will charge you for it. The crisis pregnancy center will do one for free. If you DO decide to have an abortion, and you tell the clinic you have already had an ultrasound to verifiy length of pregnancy, they may say you don’t need another one- and you’ve just saved yourself a hundred dollars. The crisis pregnancy centers. can’t stop you from having an abortion, no one can, abortion is legal. But they can give you information about abortion’s risks and alternatives you may not get at the clinic. And all their help is FREE. Whereas an abortion clinic is a business that makes profit and charges for everything it offers. The main reason abortion clinics have for turning away women and sending them home is not health problems, but lack of money. The owner of one abortion clinic said in the Chicago-Sun Times:  (he didn’t realize he was talking to a reporter)

We have to sell abortions. We have to use all the tactics we can because just like my other businesses [a trucking firm, a pollution control business, and a real estate sales office] we have competition. Now, we have to go by the rules, but rules have to be broken if we are gonna get things done.”

Former abortion clinic worker Nina Whitten says:

“Every single transaction that we did was cash money. We wouldn’t take a check, or even a credit card. If you didn’t have the money, forget it. It was unusual at all for me to take 10,000 to 15,000 a day to the bank – in cash. It’s a lie when they tell you they’re doing it to help women because they’re not. They’re doing it for the money.”

There are MANY more quotes like this here.

Clinics can only stay open if they make money. They often even charge for pregnancy tests, often many times more than you would pay buying one at the supermarket. (and its the same test) They don’t make any money if you walk out and have the baby. But crisis pregnancy centers have no financial stake in your decision. They will give you information that the clinic won’t, because they are afraid of losing your business.

I will give you the numbers and contact info for the pregnancy centers if you scroll down.

But first please look at what what will happen to your baby at 4 months if you have an abortion.

Here is an excerpt:

“Working in the autoclave room was never, ever easy. I saw my lost child in every jar of aborted baby parts. One night after working autoclave my nightmares about dead babies were so gruesome and terrifying and intense I met with the clinic’s director to talk about my feelings. She was very understanding, open and honest, and painfully forthright when she told me, “What we do here is end a life. Pure and simple. There is no disputing this fact.”

And now the crisis pregnancy centers:

Birthright is another excellent organization that helps women considering abortion. They have centers mostly in English speaking countries. They are not affiliated with any religion. I called them once. When I told them I was pro-life, they made a point to tell me they were “not political” They will not try to sway your decision. They have a 24 hour hotline. Please call them at 1-800 550 4900

If you have had an abortion and need support, here are some links for you to try.

There are other options for you than abortion. What about adoption? A lot of women feel they can’t “give away” their baby. But adoption is not the same as it used to be. Now there is open adoption, where you can be in touch with the family that raises your child and even be a part of that child’s life. I have a friend who is  therapist, who says that her clients who give babies up for adoption do much better emotionally than those who have abortions- because they know their babies are alive and happy and not dead. Another person I know gave her baby to a couple in Canada. Now she and the family are close and she spends every Christmas with the couple. She had another daughter, who she kept, and the girls are growing up like cousins. She didn’t lose a baby- she gained a family.

Please also know that abortion can cause a lot of heartache to you, the mother. Several huge studies in Finland that took medical records from several countries found that women who abort have a higher rate of needing psychiatric treatment both inpatient and outpatient and the suicide rate for women who abort is 6-7 times that of women who don’t. For teenagers, another study found a 10x higher suicide rate. Here are some studies.

Although women very rarely die of abortions in the first trimester, there are other risks. Having an abortion can create scar tissue on the uterus which can cause tubal pregnancy, a potentially fatal condition where a subsequent baby develops in the Fallopian tube. Also, scarring can cause infertility.  Damage to the cervix, the opening to the womb, (the cervix is meant to open slowly during hours of labor, not wrenched open in seconds by the abortionist) can cause miscarriages, premature births, and stillbirths when it gives away in a future pregnancy.  See studies here.

Also, there are no less than 58 studies showing a link between abortion and breast cancer. This is because the breasts begin to change in the first days of pregnancy to get ready to produce milk, but don’t finish changing until the third trimester. Aborting before then puts them in an intermediate state, more susceptible, some researchers say, to cancer.

Finally before you go to the abortion clinic, read about what other women’s experiences with abortion were like. Silent No More collects the testimonies of women who had abortions. It has over 2000 stories. if you read what these women are saying, you may get an idea of what abortion is like. Also, if you do have an abortion, Silent No More can tell you where support groups and other resources for post-abortion women can be found.Read what other women are saying.

Before you make your final choice I want to leave you with these words from a woman who had an abortion. When asked what she would say to other women considering it, she said:

Never killed the child. It will haunt you the rest of your life… Recognize that, if you have the abortion, you’re not only killing your child, you are killing someone’s brother/sister, someone’s cousin, someone’s friend, someone’s grandchild, someone’s mother, someone’s father, someone’s neighbor. Realize that abortion is killing children…”

Pictures: Abortions at 2 Months

This is a picture of a 7-week-old unborn baby, at just under 2 months

And here is a picture of an unborn baby who is 2 months old

Before you look at the pictures of the babies aborted at 2 months, I want to share something with you. If you are woman considering abortion, and you came to this page wanting to find out more, please read the short little message that my friend Jewels Green wrote just for you. If you are not a woman seeking an abortion, and/or don’t want to read it, just scroll down to see the pictures. Jewels Green worked in an abortion clinic. Jewels Green also had an abortion herself. She deeply regrets it. Her abortion led to a suicide attempt and many many years of emotional pain. She has experienced abortion both as a provider and as a patient.

When I spoke to her about this page, I asked her what she would want to say to someone considering an abortion. She sent me the following:

Dear Mom,

You’re thinking abortion is the right thing to do. Abortion is the best–and only–solution for you right now. How can you afford a child? What will your parents say? What about school? What about your boyfriend or husband?
Please take your time to think this through. “I have thought this through,” you say. “This is the only way,” you say. “This just isn’t the right time in my life for a baby,” you say.
Give me a chance, I say.
This isn’t the right time for me to die, I say.
Please.
Love,
me

Abortion pictures at different stages

Below you will find abortion pictures at different stages. Some of the abortion pictures are graphic, but they show the reality of abortion.

Note: I’m measuring by fetal age, counting from time of conception.

Before 6 weeks, an abortion leaves nothing that looks like body parts behind. The tiny embryo is completely shredded during the procedure. The embryo at that early stage does not have visible human features such as arms, legs, etc. . If you have a medical (by pill)abortion before 6 weeks, you will not see baby parts. (surgical abortions are seldom done before 7 weeks)

However, the embryo’s heart starts beating at 23 days and he or she (sex is determined at conception) has brain waves at the end of the 5th week. So even before 6 weeks she is a living, growing, tiny human being. But abortion pictures from 6 weeks and up show human body parts. At 6 weeks, fingers are just beginning to separate.  The hand of a 6 week old baby in the womb looks like this.

The baby above is a six-week miscarriage still in the sac. A baby aborted at six weeks would look like this if the abortion was by pill. By the 7th week, very recognizable fetal parts are left behind.

7 weeks:

At 8 weeks after conception, the baby looks even more human. You can see hands, feet, eyes, and ribs.

Now you have seen the abortion pictures. Do you find them hard to believe? Go to the Endowment for Human Development’s fetal development pages to verify that the abortion pictures are accurately labeled. Endowment for Human Development will show that the fetal development information given here is accurate. This website is not connected with the pro-life movement in any way and is not religious.

Its facts and footage (of living preborn babies in the womb) are taken from National Geographic.

For more information about abortion, look on other pages of the website. You can read women’s stories of their experiences having abortions, abortion’s physical and psychological risks, the stories of former abortion clinic workers and abortionists, and more.

Note: All pictures are labeled by the estimated age of the baby – counting weeks from the moment of conception. Counting length of pregnancy from a woman’s last period will add two weeks to the numbers.

In addition, every woman has a right to know the risks of any type of surgery. Abortion clinics and organizations such as Planned Parenthood make a great deal of money off of performing abortions. They may not always give accurate information about abortion’s risks.

A number of studies have been done over the past thirty years. Many of these studies have appeared in very highly respected medical journals.

For example, a study in BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, in 2006 found that an abortion raises the risk of a future miscarriage by 60%.

Researchers say this is due to the fact that forced dilation can weaken the cervix, which may cause it to give way in future pregnancies, as well as the possibility of uterine scarring. For the same reasons, other studies have shown that ectopic (or tubal) pregnancies and premature births in future pregnancy are also more common among women who have had abortions. Premature birth can cause disabilities in future children.

In addition, a study in Journal of the Royal College of General Practitioners recorded that one in ten abortion patients faces immediate complications after surgery, with one fifth of those being life-threatening.

Several studies have linked abortion to problems in relationships. For example, one study in The Journal of Public Health.

See studies here

In another study that appeared in International Review of Family Planning (Vincent M. Rue “Abortion in Relationship Context” International Review of Natural Family Planning Summer 1985 p 105) 70% of relationships ended within six months of a woman’s abortion.

Note: Some Pictures are labeled by fetal age. In an abortion clinic, length of pregnancy may be determined by the time since the woman’s last menstrual period (LMP) However, conception occurs two weeks after the period ends. Therefore, the age of the unborn baby is two weeks less than the stated time of pregnancy.
