Unborn baby at 3 months = “clump of cells” says abortion clinic

A woman was counseled at an abortion clinic and told that her baby at 3 months was “just a clump of cells.”

“When I saw that a 3-month-old “clump of cells” had fingers and toes and was a tiny, perfectly formed baby, I became really hysterical.

I’ve been lied to and misled, and I’m sure thousands of other women are being just as poorly informed and badly served. To prove it, John [her husband] and I visited most every clinic in Cleveland. I pretended I was pregnant and asked for guidance.

What we heard was incredible. One counselor told us the fetus did not begin to resemble human being until 7 months, another said 5 months, and so it went.”

In that fraction of a second…life begins

Here is what a medical textbook says about when life begins:

“In that fraction of a second when the chromosomes form pairs, the sex of the new child will be determined, hereditary characteristics received from each parent will be set, and a new life will have begun.”

Kaluger, G., and Kaluger, M., Human Development: The Span of Life, page 28-29, The C.V. Mosby Co., St. Louis, 1974.

ACLU comments on the display of the bodies of aborted babies

Joseph Scheidler and Monica Miller held a press conference outside an abortion clinic where they showed the bodies 0f aborted babies that they had dug out of the clinic’s trash.

Colleen Connell who headed up the Reproductive Rights Project of the ACLU, said:

“Basically, the parade in front of the 30 S. Michigan clinic was nothing but a shameless effort to exploit the human emotions that are invoked any time people see blood. I think what’s deliberately obscured by the organizers of that March is the real issue of whether a woman has a constitutional right to control her own reproductive functions… And what the protesters have done today is an attempt to manipulate public opinion by showing the byproducts that we’d really see in the consequence of any surgery.”

Monica Migliorino Miller Abandoned: the Untold Story of the Abortion Wars (Charlotte, North Carolina: St. Benedict Press, 2012)

Here is a picture of one of the babies Miller found in the garbage of the abortion clinic

The baby in this picture is 10 weeks old

One clearly see that this is a dead child, not simply “blood” or like”the product of any surgery”. Confronted with the reality of abortion, misleading quotes like the one above are the best the pro-choice movement can do.

Article in the New England Journal of Medicine: women are not better off

A few years after abortion was legalized, a doctor wrote this letter to the New England Journal of medicine explaining that women were no better off than they had been before.

“Ideally, the reform is designed to encourage women to take responsibility for this most important aspect of their lives, to give them freedom of choice, and to remove the decision from (usually) male authority figures. Unfortunately, this is not necessarily what happens…

Now that abortion is not only possible but fashionable, many young women do not experience themselves as having a choice in the matter any more than they did before. Whereas society once told them that they must have their babies whether they wanted to or not, it now seems to be telling them that they may not have their babies even if they wish to. Before the laws were liberalized in Massachusetts, Nadelson wrote of the mother applying for therapeutic abortion, “we rarely attend her welfare or that of her children; we do not consider her needs, her capacities or aspirations as she sees them.” Now that the laws have been changed, Nadelson’s statement unfortunately still stands.”

Ruth Tiffany Barnhouse, letter to the editor, New England Journal of Medicine 292 no. 9 (February 27, 1975): 485

Has 40 years of legal abortion good for women? There are many thousands of women who regret their abortions and take part in postabortion ministries. Cases of eptopic pregnancy and premature births (which studies have shown increase in women who have abortions) have risen exponentially. And many women feel they have no choice but to have an abortion when they become pregnant. Men often coerce women into having abortions. Are things really better?

“Pro-Abortion” clinic worker: Abortion is Beautiful

From one clinic worker:

“At first I was very upset by the [abortions]. I’m not one to see blood and mess and things like that. But I have since gotten so excited about it that I thought about going back to nursing school. When you think about it on a certain level, it’s a really interesting thing that is happening. It’s fascinating, when you can think about it clinically and not get involved in the people, or the babies. What happened when I was first working here was that I just thought about the baby and that was very upsetting. I’m very pro-abortion… I think I must’ve overcompensated, you know, overreacted and tried to look at like,    really get into it, and not shy away from it. And several times I saw a really beautiful things happen, I mean it’s physically beautiful… Sometimes you can see the vagina opening up in the entire thing coming at once.”

Abortionist “this has to be killing”

From an abortionist:

“I don’t think that anyone can say that abortion is right… It’s a form of life… This has to be killing… The question then becomes, “Is this kind of killing justifiable?” In my mind, it is justifiable, but only with the informed consent of the mother… Why kid ourselves? It’s better to say, “This is a life, albeit an early life. Giving it that kind of respect, and then make the decision.”

The “full humanity” of the fetus

Pro-choice advocate Naomi Wolf:

“Abortion should be legal; it is sometimes even necessary. Sometimes the mother must be able to decide that the fetus, in its full humanity, must die.  But it is never right or necessary to minimize the value of the lives involved or the sacrifice incurred in letting them go.”

Naomi Wolf, “Our Bodies, Our Souls” new Republic 10/16/95

Abortionist leaves dead babies “lying around the office”

16-week-old Fetus in the womb

From a former clinic worker:

“One Saturday, another employee and I were working, we were closing up, and we went down the back hallway to get the garbage. Well, we smelled this awful smell – it wasn’t coming from the garbage. So we opened the door to a storage room. Inside the storage room was a bunch of fetuses, wrapped up in the blue paper in the gloves that had been sitting in there for, I would say, at least a week. There were maggots. It stunk like – I couldn’t even describe it. We gagged and closed the door. There were at least six or seven of these fetuses just sitting there, just rotting away.”

The employees said that the abortionist who worked there often left dead fetuses lying around the office

Aborted babies burned with dead animals

“Pro-abortionists do not want the remains of aborted babies (especially late-term aborted babies) to fall into the hands of pro-life activists who then can reveal the bloody reality of abortion to the world. In Wichita, Kansas, and other cities, pro-lifers have discovered aborted preborn babies as large as six pounds (full-term) being burned as garbage along with dead dogs, cats, and birds thrown out by local Humane Society offices.”

Serious problems at abortion clinic in Allentown, Pennsylvania: prochoicers still oppose regulations

In Pennsylvania, Allentown medical services, an abortion clinic, the Department of Health found the following:

  • Procedure Room 1 – metal vaginal speculums, and metal extenders, both used on patients in abortions, were not wrapped to maintain sterility.
  • Procedure Room 1 – a vial of Naloxone HCl 1 ml. had expired.
  • Procedure Room 1 – patient care items were stored directly on the floor.
  • Procedure Room 2 – a sterile wrapped packet, which contained nine dilators for patient use, had two holes in the wrapping.
  • Procedure Room 2 – two Clonidine 0.1 mg. tablets had expired.
  • Procedure Room 2 – surgical instruments, considered ready for patient use, had an accumulation of brown debris in the hinge areas and brown staining on the inside of the packages.
  • Procedure Room 2 – sterile packages of surgical instruments had expired.
  • Procedure Room 2 – metal vaginal speculums, considered ready for patient use, were stored, unwrapped, in drawers containing dust, dirt, debris, and hair.
  • Recovery Area – the pillows, blankets and heating pad covers used by patients were taken home and cleaned by staff “every once in a while.”
  • Laboratory Room – patient care items were stored directly on the floor.
  • Scrub Room – a freezer was splattered and smeared with blood; a thick layer of blood was on the bottom of the freezer.
  • Scrub Room – surgical instruments, considered sterile, had parts protruding their wrapping, and were stored in a suitcase with a musty odor.

Andy Hoover, legislative director of the ACLU of Pennsylvania, opposes clinic regulations: he says that the regulations will “cost abortion providers hundreds of thousands of dollars in building renovations and staff increases.”
