Hastings Institute scientist champions experimentation on babies

“Since we know we are going to destroy, dismember and discard the fetus in a procedure known as abortion, it seems a small indignity to expose it to rubella vaccine just prior to that termination. The medical ethic ‘do no harm’ would, of course, be violated — but we have already violated that principle when we accepted the concept of abortion. The ultimate harm of destroying the fetus trivializes that which precedes it.”

William Gaylin and Marc Laape (president and associate for biological sciences at the Hastings Institute) Fetal Politics: The Debate on Experimenting with the Unborn.” Atlantic Monthly , May 1975.

Experimentation on living human babies (in the womb or outside the womb) is illegal now but wasn’t always. In the past, living aborted babies have been subject to medical experimentation.

Virginia legislator questions Department of Health claim that abortion is safe

In Virginia, Pro-choicers were fighting against a bill that would have required the state to inspect abortion clinics and have them meet certain basic health standards. For more about regulations of abortion clinics go here.

One state legislator said the following an exasperation:

“So, I question how the Department of Health, which has never visited any one of these places (abortion clinics) and probably doesn’t even know how many there are in the state, could conclude that, in fact, the procedures are safe.”

Senate Panel kills abortion, Daily Press, 2/23/ 2006

Of course, the Department of Health does not know. But pro-choicers are against any kind of oversight or regulation of abortion clinics. This has led to many abuses.

Out of 10 abortionists only 3 still practicing

“At one time, 10 doctors in Eugene and Springfield provided abortions. Now there are three.”

TIM CHRISTIE “Agency filling gaps from clinic’s closure.(Health)(Abortion: Planned Parenthood has been working to ensure continued access since All Women’s Health Services closed.) The Register Guard (Eugene, OR) October 23, 2002

The number of abortionists is declining in the United States. This may be partly because pro-life efforts, partly because abortion provision carries such stigma, and partly because the emotional effects of dismembering babies can be traumatizing to providers, meaning that many decide not to perform them

A “Tripadvisor” for abortion clinics

“Can someone please come up with a “Tripadvisor” for abortion clinics? Who wouldn’t want to rate their clinic experience? It would be cool, in an ideal world, if women felt safe enough to “rate” their experience…. Women don’t share their abortion experiences, but it would make a difference, I think, for women to weigh-in and provide online referrals. I use all sorts of websites like Yelp! that help me determine whether I want to go to a certain restaurant or not. Do I want someone’s opinion on the abortion clinic they went to? Yes, please. “

“First Impressions” The Abortioneers, August 2, 2012 http://abortioneers.blogspot.com/2012/08/first-impressions.html

An abortion clinic is like a restaurant in that it is a business first. Clinic compete for “customers” the same way other businesses do. So it is only logical, what this pro-choice activist (herself a clinic worker) is suggesting.

Even though abortion clinics are doing this kind of thing:

IVF babies are 10 times more likely to suffer from genetic disorders than babies conceived naturally

“ Babies born from in-vitro fertilization (IVF) are up to 10 times more likely to suffer from rare genetic disorders, according to a pro-IVF geneticist. In an address to the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society, University of Toronto geneticist Dr. Rosanna Weksberg called for more study of a link between fertility treatment and certain rare genetic disorders. “We are seeing a significant increase in risk,” she said, according to the Financial Post. “The most important message is … we need follow-up study.”

For example:

Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome occurs in one of every 1,300 fertility-treatment children, compared to one in 13,000 in the general population, according to Weksberg. It causes symptoms such as unevenly sized limbs, an enlarged tongue and a high risk of kidney tumors.

Angelman syndrome occurs in one in 1,500 among fertility-treatment children, compared to one in 15,000 in the general population. It causes serious mental retardation and speech impairment.

In addition to these genetic conditions, there is evidence of an increased chance that a baby will be born at a low weight, and research has also suggested an increased risk of autism, reports the Post.”

Not surprisingly, fertility clinics want to keep these statistics under wraps.

“Weksberg says she would like to partner with fertility clinics to study larger populations of fertility-treatment children, but has not been able to find any willing to work with her.”

Abortionist: “Shut up and quit that yelling!”

“Shut up and quit that yelling!”

Is what this patient said the abortionist told her. She continued,

This man arrived at the hospital, talked with my parents and decided to do the abortion, without speaking to me. I refused and tried to get off the examining table. He then asked three nurses to hold me while he strapped me to the bed and injected me with a muscle relaxant to keep me from struggling while he prepared to kill my baby. I continued to scream that I didn’t want an abortion.”

The woman claimed her father raped her at the age of 15 and that is why he paid for the abortion.

Mother of teen who aborted testifies in favor of Child Custody Protection Act

Testimony of Eileen Roberts, founder, Mothers against Minors’ Abortions (MAMA) Hearing on the Child Custody Protection Act before the Subcommittee on the Constitution, House Judiciary Committee, May 27, 1999:

“… I am the mother of a daughter who at age 14 underwent an abortion without my knowledge…

… During my daughter’s rebellion towards our parental authority, my daughter was encouraged by her boyfriend, with the assistance of an adult friend, to obtain a secret abortion without my knowledge. This adult friend drove my daughter to the abortion clinic, 45 miles away from our home, and even paid for my daughter’s abortion…

… As a result of her depression, my daughter was hospitalized, at which time it was discovered that the abortion had been incompletely performed and required surgery to repair the damage done by the abortionist…

The following year my daughter developed an infection and was diagnosed as having pelvic inflammatory disease, which again required a two-day hospitalization for IV antibiotic therapy…

To add insult to injury, my husband and I were responsible for our daughter’s medical costs which amounted to over $27,000.

I am here today to ask this committee to reject the eccentric notion that any adult stranger has the right to abduct our minor age daughters and take them to another state for secret abortion. I speak today for those parents I know around the country, whose daughters have been taken out of state for their abortions. Many times these attempts to evade parental notification and consent laws are also attempts to conceal criminal activity, such as statutory rape…

Please allow parents the opportunity to put their arms around their daughters and say “I love you, we can work this through together,” which parental notification and consent laws restore in this legislation will protect…”

Suicider’s Anonymous director on Abortion and Suicide

Meta Uchtman, regional director of Suiciders Anonymous, spoke at the Cincinnati City Council Sept 1, 1981 in support of the Parental Notification ordinance for abortion :

“The Cincinnati group has seen 5,620 members in 35 months. Over 4,000 were women of whom 1,800 or more had had abortions. The highest suicide rate is in the 15 to 24 age group. There is a direct link….it is an act of cruelty to remove parental duties and rights during an abortion crisis….Any experience that forces an individual to feel that sense of lonely isolation and complete abandonment is a crisis and when you exclude someone (parents) who can reach a hand out to you, someone who cares- the crisis is worsened. Without the strength and health from a family, you are actually giving birth to a suicide.”

Massachusetts Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice director on post-abortion problems

Rosemary Candelario, director of Massachusetts Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, on why pro-choice groups often claim that abortion does not contribute to emotional trauma for women:

“I think the fear in the [abortion rights] movement is if we admit abortion is hard for some women, then we’re admitting that it’s wrong, which is totally not the case. I’ve heard from women who are having problems dealing with their abortion who are still ardently pro-choice.”

Unborn baby has organs and features in the 7th week

7 weeks

“In its seventh week [the unborn baby] bears the familiar external features and all the internal organs of the adult…The brain in configuration is already like the adult brain and sends out impulses that coordinate the functions of other organs…The heart beats sturdily. The stomach produces digestive juices. The liver manufactures blood cells and the kidneys begin to function by extracting uric acid from the child’s blood…The muscles of the arms and body can already be set in motion. After the eighth week…everything is already present that will be found in the full-term baby.”
