Post-abortion woman: I prayed someone would be there to stop me

Pro-life activist Richard Exley told this story:

“Some time ago I was speaking to a right to life rally. When I had finished, a young woman came to the front of the auditorium and asked to speak to the audience. Noting her obvious distress, I hesitated before giving her the microphone.

Tearfully she confessed that eight years earlier she had aborted her baby… The father had wanted nothing more to do with the young woman or her unborn child. In shame and desperation she has scheduled a legal and inexpensive abortion.…

Trembling, she told us that on the way to the abortion clinic she had “prayed” that someone would stop her.

“If only one person has asked me not to do it,” she sobbed, “my baby would be alive today.”

“I can’t go back and undo what I’ve done,” she continued. “But I pledge to you, and to God, that I will be there, in front of the abortion clinic, to help some other woman save her baby.”

Listening to her story, I couldn’t help but wonder how many other babies have been killed simply because no one was there.”

Woman says abortion workers called her baby “blob of tissue”

Nona Ellington was told her baby was:

“Only a blob of tissue. I was not prepared for how painful the abortion would be since it was only partial anesthesia. As a minor with my mother there, we were not informed of what the procedure entailed and my mother was not allowed in the counseling room beforehand to make an educated decision. My mom even tried to get into the room, but they sent her away. I was never introduced to the doctor. I only know he was a man.”

Pro-choicers harass 40 Days for Life participants

Shortly after the local news in Santa Cruz covered the city’s 40 Days for Life campaign, pro-choicers came out in force to harass the demonstrators:

“For the next week, several [pro-choice] protesters showed up in the afternoons wearing ghoul costumes and shouting at prayer volunteers. Throughout the vigil, volunteers were spat upon and had water bottles thrown at them and signs ripped out of their hands.”

No one boasts of being an abortionist

From an article in The Independent about a shortage of abortion providers in England:

“Distaste at performing terminations combined with ethical and religious convictions has led to a big increase in “conscientious objectors” who request exemption from the task, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (RCOG) says. A key factor is what specialists call “the dinner party test.” Gynecologists who specialize in fertility treatment creating babies for childless couples are almost universally revered – but no one boasts of being an abortionist. As a result, after decades of campaigning, antiabortion organizations may be on the point of achieving their objective by default. Repeated efforts to tighten the law have failed and public opinion remains firmly in support, but the growing number of doctors refusing to do the work means there may soon not be enough prepared to carry out terminations to meet demand.”

Native American abortion worker talks about killing baby

Samara Azam—Yu, director of Access Women’s Health Justice in Oakland, California, an organization that raises funds for women who can’t afford to have abortions:

“There’s a Native American nurse at an abortion clinic in San Francisco who put it this way. She said, “If you have twins and it’s a bad year, you have to put one in the badger hole.”

Abortionist Brags: “we never lost a life” in his clinic

Rabbi Daniel Levy tells the following anecdote:

“A gynecologist told me that he was once called to assist at a center for the termination of pregnancies in the North of England. The woman had just had a termination and was bleeding to death. The gynecologist turned up with his colleagues in the ambulance and as they led the lady away on the stretcher the director of the organization said reassuringly to the doctors:

“You know, over the last 30 years we have performed 120,000 abortions in this clinic and never once lost a life.”

Pro-choicer: put aside money in case you need an abortion

Pro-abortion activist Katha Pollitt says:

“Build a reserve fund in case you need to end a pregnancy. Even if you can only put aside five dollars a week, in two years you’d have enough for a first trimester abortion, even if your partner didn’t share the costs, which of course he should. (In fact, he should pay the whole thing, since you’re the one going through that not fun day.) If you got pregnant before then, you would at least have a head start on raising when you needed.”
