Abortionist Uses Meat Grinder to Dispose of Aborted Children’s Bodies

The disposal of the remains of aborted babies is one final indignity inflicted on these little people. While it is recommended medical practice for the remains to be sent to a pathology lab to be examined, after which they are incinerated or buried, many clinics cut corners by simply throwing them out. See this section for examples of what happens to the baby’s bodies after abortion.

Dr. Curtis Stover, and abortionist himself, wrote about the disgust he felt witnessing the way aborted babies were disposed of in one clinic, the Mayfair Women’s Clinic in Aurora, Colorado.

“Dr. Parks reached up to a shelf and brought down several pieces of metal that were parts of a meatgrinder and place them on the counter. Next, he assembled the grinder and clamped it to the countertop. As I looked at the grinder I realized that it was very old and resembled the same meatgrinder that my mother used years ago to grind up meat into hamburger meat. Dr. Parks then began to empty each bucket into the hopper on top of the grinder, and his left hand pressed the fetal tissue down into the hopper as he turned the handle with his right hand, grinding the tissue. As he did this the tissue oozed out of the end of the grinder like multiple tubes of pink toothpaste. After all the fetuses were ground up into a large bucket, he [Dr. Parks] dumped the contents into the sink and washed it down the sink with water. Finally, he disassembled the grinder, rinsed it off, and placed it back on the shelf.”

Affidavit of Curtis E. Stover, M.D., dated June 15, 1992, corroborated in depositions of Dr. Parks and clinic staff. From Robert C Cetrulo. That Reminds Me of the Story: Reflections of a Pro-Life Warrior (Covington, Kentucky: Northern Kentucky Right to Life Educational Foundation, 2003) page 9

Here is an example of what an unborn baby at nine weeks looks like before he or she is aborted and then ground up.

Pro-Life Leader Kristan Hawkins on the Meaning of Being Pro-Life

“As those of us in the pro-life movement know, abortion is the ‘treatment’ of a ‘problem.’ Women in crisis pregnancies often see abortion as the only solution. When I and others counsel women outside of abortion facilities or at a pregnancy resource centers, the responses we receive are usually the same. The young woman doesn’t want to choose abortion but feels there is no better solution. Applying real Social Justice means that those of us in the pro-life movement who reach out to these scared, pregnant women meet their material and emotional needs first. We need to fulfill our promise of providing her with everything she needs during her pregnancy and beyond, and, in the process, build a long-lasting relationship with her. This way, she doesn’t find herself in the same situation a year from now. This is real Social Justice. This is justice for both the woman and her preborn baby.”

Kristan Hawkins, Executive Director of Students for Life of America

Woman Gets Her Ninth Abortion At Clinic

In the article “Abortion in America, Focus on the City; Center’s Moments of Pain, Conflict, Relief” Newsday (New York) 1989, the reporter makes the following observations at an abortion clinic called Margaret Sanger Center:

“It is 3:30 and Nancy Todd, a social worker at Sanger, is exhausted. Today she saw a 14-year-old girl who came in for an abortion but knew nothing about what the procedure entailed. There was a woman in her late 20s who came in for her ninth abortion, with whom Todd had a long discussion about birth control.

Court Testimony: The Reasons for Partial-Birth And Late-Term Abortions

Rep Charles  T. Canady said in testimony on the partial-birth abortion ban (Discharging the Committee on the Judiciary from Further Consideration Of the President’s Veto of HR 1833, Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act of 1995) documented on September 9, 1996 Capital Words, A Project of the Sunlight Foundation volume 142 , number 130 (found here)

“Another abortionist, Dr. James McMahon, who performed partial-birth abortions in the third trimester on five women who appeared with President Clinton at his April 15 veto event, submitted to Congress a detailed breakdown of a series of over 2,000 partial-birth abortions. He classified only 9 percent as involving maternal health indications, of which the most common was depression. Other health reasons included spousal drug exposure and the youth of the mother. That is what they are talking about when they talk about health.

Another 56 percent of these abortions were for fetal flaws, but these included a great many nonlethal disorders such as cleft lip and Down’s syndrome.

Most strikingly, Dr. McMahon did not list reasons, not even depression or cleft lip, for more than one-third of the partial-birth abortions he performed. “

While this information applies to partial-birth abortions, which are preformed late in pregnancy (usually at or beyond the latter part of the second trimester) the statistics hold true for all late-term abortions – most are not done for dire medical reasons. For more information on late-term abortions, the reasons they are done, and how the laws of different states deal with them, go here.

Abortion Clinic Nurse Witnesses an Abortion at 28 Weeks (Seven Months)

Gayla Ennis, a nurse at an abortion clinic, describes one late-term abortion that she witnessed:

“It (aborted baby) looked about 28 weeks, I was shocked and after that one I didn’t help him anymore with anything. Sid (the abortionist) had a few special instruments that he had special ordered, they were 12 to 14 inches long, had a 1- to 2-inch head with sharp teeth on the forceps part that he used to break up body parts.”

“Doctor Investigated In Abortion Allegations, Daily Oklahoman (Oklahoma City, OK): ” July 15, 1992. Quoted by Life Dynamics.

In some states, there are no laws banning abortions at this age. Even in states that have laws on the books, loopholes in the laws allow for abortions this late in pregnancy.

Abortion Clinic Worker Condemns Women Who Use Abortion as Birth Control

Margaret Briggs, bookkeeper at an abortion clinic:

“I’m not completely and wholly for it. We’ve had several patients in here who came three times in two years… Abortion is not to be used for a birth control method. It’s ridiculous.”

Magda Denes, PhD. In Necessity and Sorrow: Life and Death in an Abortion Hospital (New York: Basic Books inc 1976) 25

One wonders why, if abortion is merely the removal of a collection of cells, the “termination of a pregnancy,” it should not be used as birth control. If abortion is in fact benign, as pro-choicers say, why should it matter how many abortions a woman has?

Most abortions happen in the 1st trimester. Here is an ultrasound of a first trimester pregnancy

Professor Explains Her Support for Harvesting the Organs of Aborted Babies

14 week old unborn baby

Mary Anne Warren, a philosopher at San Francisco State University, “Can the Fetus Be an Organ Farm?” Hastings Center Report, October 1978, pages 23 – 25

“fetuses, especially those as old as five or six months, elicit our sympathy, and tempt us to endow them with moral rights, not only because they are potential people, but because they look disconcertingly like people; their physical features are recognizably human. This sympathy is misplaced… A proper respect for the right to life requires that it not be respected where does not exist.”

In this article, Warren promoted the idea of using aborted baby’s organs for research on transplantation.

Pro-Choice Chaplain Defends Abortion

Pro-Choice chaplain George Patterson:

Aborted baby

“Life is a gift from God. I believe that very strongly. But conception of the child is not a result of divine intervention. It is a human act between two people. We have to accept responsibility for that.  And there may be times when responsibility involves terminating pregnancy… Life that is most vulnerable deserves our greatest protection. That applies not only to the life of the fetus but the life of the pregnant woman. I don’t think [religion] gives us any clear and specific guidance on how we shall not sin. And for that reason I think we have to respect the right of the individual conscience.”

Roger Rosenblatt. Life Itself: Abortion in the American Mind (New York: Random House, 1992) 168, 169 – 170

Abortion Clinic Administrator Discusses Stigma

Abortion clinic administrator Diane Derzis discusses the stigma that abortion providers face, and how it comes from people on both sides of the political debate.

“There’s still the shame thing, even among people who are pro-choice. We [abortion providers] are still seen as dirty, even among our own people.”
