Illinois Abortion clinic loses license

In a June 6-8 inspection 2011, The Illinois Department of public health suspended the license of the abortion clinic in Rockford, Northern Illinois Women’s Center. They found:

“The facility did not ensure the presence of a registered nurse in the operating room during all invasive and operative procedures.

The facility did not ensure the presence of a registered nurse to direct and supervise the nursing personnel and the nursing care of patients.

The facility did not ensure that either of the two physicians on staff have and maintain surgical practice privileges with an Illinois-licensed hospital.

The facility did not have a written agreement with a laboratory that possesses a valid clinical laboratory improvement amendment certificate to perform any lab work that is not performed at the facility.”

All these deficiencies could compromise patient care. Without admitting privileges, it is more difficult to have a patient transferred to the ER if there is a problem. Without an agreement with a laboratory, abortion remains cannot be properly examined after they are removed from the woman’s body. Failure to have a pathologist inspect the remains would keep the clinic from knowing whether or not the entire baby and placenta were removed. Any parts left behind could cause a serious infection. Also, examining the abortion remains is the only way to screen for eptopic pregnancy, which if left untreated undetected, can cause fatal bleeding.

“According to the notice, the department “found conditions at (the Northern Illinois Women’s Center) that are directly threatening to the public interest, health, safety and welfare requiring immediate, emergency action.”

Preteen victim of incest taken to abortion clinic: she is given condoms and sent back home to her abuser

Fredrica Matthews Green, commenting on a study showing two thirds of births to teenage moms in California involved a dad who was an adult:

“Closer to home, a friend of mine was brought to an abortion clinic by her older brother, who molested her when she was 12; they gave her a bag of condoms and told her to be more careful. You’re not going to solve problems like these by tossing a handful of condoms at them.”…..

National Abortion Federation: it is “harder and harder” to find doctors to perform abortions

“Back in the 80s, [we] started getting calls from all over the country where clinics were saying, “Help, my doctor hasn’t had a vacation in 3 years. He really wants to go somewhere but we can’t get a replacement for him. There’s no doc we can find anywhere who can come and take our abortion patients… We are getting the same story over and over and over again, and we were finding it harder and harder to find any kind of assistance for these clinics.”

Susan Wysoki, Director of the Access Project, National Abortion Federation

The activism of pro-lifers is part of the reason why there is such a shortage of doctors – pro-lifers expose abortionists who injure or kill women and put pressure on hospitals and medical organizations to cut ties with abortion doctors.

But perhaps a bigger reason why so many people don’t want to perform abortions is because of medical stigma – there is a great deal of stigma against abortion providers in the medical community and the public at large. Another reason could be that many abortionists find the work distasteful – pulling out recognizable body parts is not a pleasant way to spend one’s day

Alabama Bureau of Health Provider Standards proposes regulations after abortion clinics found operating under dangerous conditions

After one abortion clinic was closed permanently in June and serious health violations were found in several others, the Alabama Bureau of Health Provider Standards has proposed new regulations governing abortion clinics.

One clinic, New Woman All Women Health Care in Birmingham, agreed to go on probation in November after “inspectors found patients weren’t given preoperative medication on time, the clinic hadn’t verified whether pregnancy tests and ultrasound tests were conducted and, in the most serious violation, the clinic’s administrator had ordered and diverted narcotics such as hydrocodone for her own use,” according to the News.

Pro-Life News in Brief. National Right to Life News December 1, 2006

Planned Parenthood and other pro-choice groups vehemently oppose any regulation of clinics, claiming such regulations would drive abortion clinics out of business. Meanwhile, many abortion clinics are dangerous and have injured and even killed women.

Doctor: abortions “used to scare the daylights out of me” because of potential complications

From one doctor, on the risks of abortion:

“[Abortions] used to scare the living daylights out of me because there were so many complications that could happen… I always felt like, “Oh God,” what if you [perforate the uterus]? I remember doing the D&Cs [to complete] the second trimester [inductions], and you could just feel the uterus was [soft and easy to perforate]…”

Prochoicer decries animal abuse, praises late-term abortionist

Jodi Jacobson Tweeted on February 24 2014 about the horrors of animal abuse. She was referring to a a picture and article that was tweeted claiming that puppies in Korea were boiled alive while being prepared to be eaten.

“What? What’s this? They were boiled alive? Seriously? This is horrific.”

And yet, in another post, she praised late-term abortionist Dr. George Tiller.

“Dr. Tiller was one of the few doctors providing late-term abortions to people in need in part because he was a commited, ethical, moral medical professional who took seriously his oath to serve the best interests of his patients, and because he was dedicated to supporting women’s rights even at the risk of his own life and even under unimaginable daily pressure and threat.”

Jodi Jacobson “Late Abortions: Facts, Stories, and Ways to Help” RH Reality Check June 2, 2009

Dr. Tiller did abortions in the third trimester, sometimes weeks before the baby was supposed to be born. He poisoned the baby by injecting toxic digoxin into the baby’s heart. He then burned the dead babies in a full-size crematoriam. Earlier pregnancies, where the baby was in the second trimester, were done by dismemberment.

Apparently, killing puppies as heartsickening but killing babies is perfectly okay.

Former clinic director on why abortion providers fight against ultrasound requirements

Former abortion clinic director Abby Johnson describes why abortion providers fight laws requiring women to be asked if they want to see an ultrasound of their baby before an abortion

“Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the National Abortion Federation both REQUIRE ultrasounds to be performed before an abortion takes place. During a first trimester procedure, a transvaginal ultrasound is required. An abdominal or transvaginal is allowed in the second and third trimesters.

There is one reason for this. They need to be able to see exactly how far along the woman is in her pregnancy so the abortion facility knows how much to charge for the abortion. There is one reason they don’t want women to see their ultrasound…it is too risky. Ultrasounds expose the lie of the abortion industry. They show that it is not just a “blob of tissue” or a “mass of cells.”

Ultrasounds show the humanity of the child. They don’t oppose ultrasounds because it is too time consuming. They are performing them anyway! They are required (by their own rules) to perform them. It is not traumatizing for the woman. They are about to perform an invasive and painful procedure on these women and they are seriously worried about how an ultrasound will feel? Of course not. They only oppose ultrasounds because of the risk…a woman may choose life and they may be out several hundred dollars. It is pretty plain and simple.”

Doctor: grabbing the head of a decapitated baby is like grasping a ping-pong ball

22 weeks – D & E dismemberment abortions are often done at this time

“When you’re doing a dismemberment D&E, usually the last part to be removed is the skull itself and it’s floating free inside the uterine cavity…So it’s rather like a ping-pong ball floating around and the surgeon is using his forcep to reach up to try to grasp something that’s freely floating around and is quite large relative to the forcep we’re using.”

Young woman aborts baby at 15 weeks, says it’s “God’s plan”

From an article that profiled several abortion patients and had an interview with an abortion doctor, Dr. William Harrison, who had performed thousands of abortions at the time of the article:

Amanda hasn’t told her ex-boyfriend that she’s 15 weeks pregnant with his child. She hasn’t told her parents, either, though she lives with them.

“I figured it was my responsibility,” she says.

She regrets having to pay $750 for the abortion, but Amanda says she does not doubt her decision. “It’s not like it’s illegal. It’s not like I’m doing anything wrong,” she says.
