“Back in the 80s, [we] started getting calls from all over the country where clinics were saying, “Help, my doctor hasn’t had a vacation in 3 years. He really wants to go somewhere but we can’t get a replacement for him. There’s no doc we can find anywhere who can come and take our abortion patients… We are getting the same story over and over and over again, and we were finding it harder and harder to find any kind of assistance for these clinics.”

The activism of pro-lifers is part of the reason why there is such a shortage of doctors – pro-lifers expose abortionists who injure or kill women and put pressure on hospitals and medical organizations to cut ties with abortion doctors.
But perhaps a bigger reason why so many people don’t want to perform abortions is because of medical stigma – there is a great deal of stigma against abortion providers in the medical community and the public at large. Another reason could be that many abortionists find the work distasteful – pulling out recognizable body parts is not a pleasant way to spend one’s day
