Activist: poverty, race are not reasons to kill people through abortion

Social worker Erma Clardy Craven said the following at a National Right to Life convention:

“And listen to the rationale for taking their lives: They are poor! As if poverty should be an excuse for taking a human being’s life! And you can walk through the garbage cans in America and the lunchrooms in America and look at the food that’s wasted….And that to me is the grossest form of racism: to take the life of a black child… And I am two descendants removed from slavery.”

Supreme Court: Corporations and nature are “persons”

Supreme Court Justice William Douglas defined “person” in 1972 Sierra Club vs. Morton

“The ordinary corporation is a “person” for purposes of the adjudicatory process… So it should be as respects to valleys, Alpine Meadows, rivers, lakes, estuaries, beaches, ridges, groves of trees, swampland… All forms of life will stand before the court – the pileated woodpecker as well as the coyote and bear, the lemmings as well as the trout in the stream.”

Sierra Club v. Morton, quoted in Troy Clark, Ph.D. Abortion Every 90 Seconds: The Whole Story (Kindle, 2015)

The Supreme Court has also ruled that the baby below is NOT a person and can be legally killed.

Activist: poor people don’t want abortion rights

Peace/pro-life activist Juli Loesch says:

“…I was poor and was raised poor, too. In my neighborhood abortion was never anything anyone talked about, it was simply unknown. No one ever did it. No one ever heard of it….

Of all the rights that poor people have demanded, and we’ve demanded them all along, this is the right that we’ve never asked for but we got. You know, you can’t get a house, but you can get your family cut down to size.”

Abortion worker was “disturbed” by seeing body parts

Abortion clinic worker Ida Dupont:

“The second trimester abortions were hard for me to deal with because they are admittedly a bit gory. …I remember witnessing one of these procedures and being disturbed at the sight of parts of a fetus being removed.”

MINDY BOND & RAPHIE FRANK “Ida Dupont, Professor of Criminal Justice, Women’s AdvocateGothamist December 1, 2004

Dupont claimed that second trimester abortions are usually done because of a health problem in the mother or baby, but this has been debunked.

WSYX -TV tells of baby born alive after abortion

WSYX -TV  discussed a baby born alive during a partial birth abortion. It was a segment on the news. This is the transcript:

“A woman 5 months pregnant came to Women’s Med Center in Dayton, Ohio, to get a partial birth abortion. During the 3 days it takes to have the procedure she began to have stomach pains and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Within minutes she was giving birth.

Nurse Shelly Lowe in the emergency room at the hospital was shocked when the baby took a gasp of air. [Lowe] “I just held her and it really got to me that anybody could do that to a baby. I rocked her and talked to her because I felt that no one should die alone.” The little girl survived 3 hours.

Mark Lally, Director of Ohio Right to Life believes this is why partial birth abortions should be banned. [Lally] ”

This shows what we’ve been trying to make clear to people. Abortion isn’t something that happens just early in pregnancy, it happens at all stages of pregnancy. It’s legal in this state any time.”

Abortion patient punches clinic escort by mistake

Abortion clinic counselor Ida Dupont wrote:

“It was really chaotic sometimes. I felt sorry for the women who had to cross that gauntlet before having their abortions.

One woman was so frustrated by the commotion that she unwittingly punched one of the escorts that was there to help her inside the clinic. She just clocked this poor woman because she thought she was an anti-choice protester. It was pretty insane.”

MINDY BOND & RAPHIE FRANK “Ida Dupont, Professor of Criminal Justice, Women’s AdvocateGothamist December 1, 2004

Those who have participated in sidewalk counseling outside abortion clinics often tell stories of angry and violent clinic escorts. In this case, a patient mistakenly hit an escort. Other sidewalk counselors have been attacked and run over with cars.

Almost 90% of women changed their minds about abortion after seeing sonogram

Tom Kertcher wrote:

“ICU Mobile, based in Akron, OH, provided ultrasounds for 1,389 pregnant women. 613 of these women were “abortion minded.” Out of the 613 abortion vulnerable women, 533 or 89.9%, made a decision for life against aborting their child.”

Head of abortion clinic chain: Fetal pictures make us “apologetic”

A pro-lifer who infiltrated an abortion conference quoted Ann Furedi, head of the largest chain of abortion clinics in England. She is CEO of the British Pregnancy Advisory Service, which provides about one quarter of all British abortions and specializes in late-term abortion :

Having to contend with “all those Lennart Nilsson photos of a 17 week-old fetus sucking its thumb,” has made abortion activists like us “necessarily a little bit apologetic. It’s not surprising that a lot of young people are not enthusiastic about abortion. They’re not enthusiastic about killing unborn babies….

For far too long, said Furendi, the abortion movement has let religious anti-choice extremists dictate the agenda. But now the time is ripe to claim that “abortion is right.”……

“We need to claim the moral high ground. We cannot have equality if we are constantly victims of our own fertility. A woman is not just a vehicle for pregnancy. I respect human life but there are elements of human life that make us people…personal autonomy, decision-making…bodily integrity. It is morally reprehensible to deny this capacity for choice and decision making.”…

What’s more, [Furedi] went on, it hasn’t helped that “most women who come to our clinics are there because they are in personal need, not because they are pro-choice.”

Crisis pregnancy center sees 95% of women choose life with ultrasound

An article on crisis pregnancy centers said:

…the results of performing sonograms have been startling, abortion opponents say. A survey by the Heidi Group, a Christian evangelical nonprofit organization that advises such centers on fund-raising and administration, found that those using counseling alone reported persuading 70 percent of women considering abortion to abandon the idea. In centers with ultrasound machines, that number jumped to 90 percent, said Carol Everett, the group’s chief executive.

Ms. Palumbo, director of another cpc, always weighed in:

About 45 percent of women who test positive for pregnancy at the Bowie center are “abortion-minded,” Ms. Palumbo, the center’s director said. The use of ultrasounds has convinced 50 to 75 percent of those women to change their minds, Ms. Palumbo said.

NARAL Pro-Choice America fights tooth and nail against laws that would require abortion clinics to show the sonogram to women. NARAL even spends untold amounts of money fighting in court against laws that say the clinic must only ask the woman if she wants to see it.

Nancy Keenan, president of Naral Pro-Choice America, says:

“With or without ultrasound women understand the moral dimensions of their choices.”

Pro-Choicer: teens should abort their babies because their babies may die

Pro-Choice author Catherine Whitney explained why teens should have abortions:

“Infants born to teenagers have high mortality rates; they are more than twice as likely to die at birth [than] infants born to mature women. Infants who survive or more likely to have health complications and mental retardation.”

Catherine Whitney Whose Life? (New York: William Morrow and Company, Inc., 1991) 176

Abortion must be available to teens because their babies have “high mortality rates.” Meaning that if the babies are not killed by abortion, they might die. So that is a reason to kill them, to prevent them from dying by killing them.

Very convoluted reasoning.

9-10 weeks. Is it better to kill this baby now to prevent him from later dying?
