ObGyn on having an abortion

ObGyn William J. Sweeney III, wrote:

“In some hospitals [that do abortions] …the patient is conscious. I wouldn’t be able to stand it, to lie there and listen to this suction thing go sworrpp and then hear something splash into the bottle on top of the machine. It’s bad enough for a doctor to hear, but how must the woman feel, knowing that splash was her fetus or baby that just got sucked out of her? Not only that, but in a lot of places the bottle sitting up there on the machine isn’t changed between abortions… To save time, many clinics just let the bottle fill up. Can you imagine walking into a room where there was a bloody bottle full of other people’s abortions?”

Pro-choice activist suggests pro-lifers want to torture women

From one pro-choice activist:

“The underlying emotion of “prolife” people is not love but fear, which is at least as strong a motivator but is less comfortably admitted….

[I]f we continue to be respectful and legitimate, we soon may be scouring the closet for metal [coat] hangers. … If their side airs commercials with cuddly babies, how about a few with terrified teenagers — children like your own — encountering filthy back-alley abortionists? … How about hooded Inquisitors stretching women on the rack: “Who did it? Where do we find him?” Or Gestapo types breaking into a sterile operating room, destroying science?”

Robin Tolmach Lakoff “The Rhetoric of Reproduction.” Conscience (newsletter of Catholics for a Free Choice), Summer 1992 [Volume XV, Number 1], pgs 4 – 12.

Pro-Choice author: abortion supporters are silent on “value of fetal life”

From pro-choice author Beverly Wildung Harrison:

“Proponents of safe, legal abortion…often remain silent on the question of the value of fetal life.”

Judge describes witnessing abortion procedure on TV

Pro-Life judge Randall J Hekman wrote about a television program he saw:

“Embedded on my mind is a recent TV documentary on abortion in which the viewers actually witness a woman being aborted… We could hear the woman crying as the vacuum pump whirled, sucking her live child out to oblivion.

After the deed was done, the social worker attending the woman asked her if she hurt anymore. The woman’s answer, given with noticeable despondency, spoke volumes. “Not physically,” she said.

The social worker, accurately perceiving that the woman was emotionally aching from what had just happened, said, “It’s all right to feel bad. You’ve just lost something.”

Founder of Catholics for Choice defends taking money from Playboy

When asked about why Catholics for Free Choice, a pro-abortion group, took money from the Playboy Foundation, president Francis Kissling said:

“I’ve never felt that by taking money from someone indicates that we support them.”

Pro-Choicer calls abortion “sacrament in the hands of women”

From pro-choice activist Joyce Arthur:

“Abortion is a major blessing, and a sacrament in the hands of women…. Now, a flake of dandruff from my head is human, but it is not a human being, and in this sense, neither is a fertilized egg.”

Joyce Arthur. “The Fetus Focus Fallacy.” Pro-Choice Press [Pro-Choice Action Network], March 2005. Downloaded on December 31, 2007.

Abortionist admits she’d let a baby born alive after an abortion die

Abortionist was asked about what she would do if she was doing an abortion and a baby was born alive.

“I’ll tell you what I would do if this impossible scenario [of a live birth after during an abortion] were to happen, however: I would do whatever the patient wanted me to. The newborn would be unable to make medical decisions for itself and therefore medical-decision making would legally fall to the parents.”

If the parents wanted to kill the baby then, it look like Torres would do the killing.

She then says:

“Even in cases of 3rd trimester abortion, the fetus is euthanized. This is not only due to the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act, but it is also humane medicine. It would be very traumatic to the mother, father (if present), and caregivers (physicians, nurses, etc) if during the induction of the abortion the baby were born alive then left to die. How horrific! Despite popular opinion, we are not monsters. We are physicians who seek to minimize the trauma of this difficult decision.”

Philosopher: Animal Life can be more valuable than Human Life

Princeton Philosopher Peter Singer:

“Because people are human does not mean that their lives are more valuable than animals. Some nonhuman animals are more like normal human beings than are some seriously damaged members of our own species.”

Quoted in “American Bioethics Advisory Commission Demands Resignation of Princeton Professor” The Wanderer December 8, 1998, p. 11

Singer is a strong supporter of legal abortion.

Pro-Choicer compares aborted baby to unwanted puppy

A pro-abortion writer tries to explain why pictures of aborted babies generate so much sympathy for preborn babies:

“The story and reasons of the aborting women unknown, the fetus found in a plastic bag in a dumpster is seen to be as alone and abandoned as a half- grown Christmas puppy.”

Sarah Weddington describes “life potential” of a preborn baby

Sarah Weddington, the lawyer who argued Roe v. Wade, defends abortion:

“Indeed, in the face of two difficult, unresolvable choices – to destroy life potential in either a fetus or its host – the choice can only be left to one of the entities whose potential is threatened.”

Sarah Weddington A Question of Choice (New York: The Feminist Press, 2013 ed.) 106

Why only the woman’s “potential” is threatened, and not the baby’s, she does not explain.
