Study fails to show that unwanted pregnancies cause bad outcome for babies

A study meant to document that children born from unwanted pregnancies grew up with serious problems failed. The study turned up no evidence linking unwanted pregnancies to unhappy children. The study did not find that children who were unwanted in the womb had bad lives. Researchers said:

“There is contention that unwanted conceptions tend to have undesirable effects…the direct evidence for such relationship is almost completely lacking…It was the hope of this article to find more convincing systematic research evidence and to give some ideas of the amount of relationship and undesired effect on children. This hope has been disappointed.”

Indian woman kills four babies for being girls

A report by the United Nations Population Fund told the story of an Indian woman named Ranu:

“She strangled her first two babies to death because they were girls, terminated two other pregnancies because the foetuses were female …Yet she and her husband Mukhtar have no remorse about the fate of their “missing” daughters.

“I will kill other children if they are born girls,” Ranu said, explaining that she is too poor to pay for their weddings…..

The girl child is killed by putting a sand bag on her face or by throttling her. It is not a rare phenomenon. It happens without hindrance.”

0.005% of abortions in England were done for risk to woman’s life

The following was cited in “ABORTION A Briefing Book For Canadian Legislators” Campaign Life Coalition NATIONAL PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICE July 2002

“The British Hansard Written Answers of July 1, 1987 discloses that of 2.6 million abortions carried out in England and Wales between 1968 and 1986, 123 (or .005 percent) were performed to save the life of the mother.”

Many doctors, including abortionists, have said that abortion is never needed to save the life of a woman.

Abortion rate among teens dropped from 39% to 14%

The number of abortions done on teenagers has dropped a great deal. The abortion rate among teens is much lower than it was.

“Teens represented fewer than 14% of all abortions in 2011, compared to nearly 39% in 1980.”

Brittany Ferrell “Abortion in US at 40-Year Low” Family Policy Facts, NC Family Policy Council, 12/11/2014

The younger generation is having fewer abortions than in the past.

Perhaps the wider visibility of ultrasound pictures like this one has helped lower abortion rate among teens.

Poll shows people disagree with abortion after baby has heartbeat

A May 2004 Zogby survey of over 1000 Americans found:

  • 61% agree abortion should not be permitted after a fetal heartbeat has begun (16 days)
  • 65% agree abortion should not be permitted after fetal brain waves are detected (6 weeks)
  • 74% disagree with US tax dollars being used to pay for abortions
  • 77% favor laws requiring specific information about fetal pain being given to women 20 weeks pregnant or more prior to an abortion

“More Americans Hold Pro-Life Views” Family Policy News May 2004

The problem is, every abortion stops a beating heart, and the majority kill a baby with brain waves. But people are not educated about fetal development, so they don’t know this.

Memorial for the aborted would be a mile-long

A fact about abortion:

“Were a memorial, similar to the Vietnam Memorial, to be constructed with names of all American children killed in abortions since 1973, it would be twice as tall as the Washington Monument and a mile-long.”

Planned Parenthood urged Hurricane Katrina donations, but used money for itself

Pro-life author Troy Clark, Ph.D, wrote:

Jim Sedlak, Executive Director of American Life League’s STOPP International, pointed out that on Planned Parenthood’s website, it urged people to donate to Hurricane Katrina relief in 2005.

Upon closer inspection of the fine print on the webpage, the pro-choice organization explained that all money raised will be “used to support its own clinics and offices, not to support any of the rescue efforts or critical services needed by storm victims in New Orleans and along the Gulf Coast.”

This was written about in “Pro-Life Leader: Planned Parenthood Should Lose its Tax Funding” National Liberty Journal, Oct 2005 and was cited in Troy Clark, Ph.D. Abortion Every 90 Seconds: The Whole Story (Kindle, 2015)

94% of abortions take place in clinics, not hospitals

Pro-lifer Troy Clark pointed out the following statistic:

“Most abortions in the US (94%) are performed in freestanding abortion clinics not equipped to handle severe complications. In 2005, only 5% occurred in hospitals.” (NAF)

Planned Parenthood opposes law that catches child rapists

The Topeka Capital-Journal writes of a new law requiring abortion clinics to keep the DNA of child rape victim’s abortions in order to have evidence to convict sexual predators. Planned Parenthood opposes the law, even though it has already provided leads on three rapists.

“An enhanced effort to prosecute child rapists has netted three leads during the past month for the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.

But Kansas’ abortion industry — responsible for providing the help — continues its critique of the initiative.

An official from the office of Attorney General Phill Kline told state lawmakers Tuesday that abortion doctors have sent tissue samples from three aborted fetuses to the KBI since July 11. That is when a law went into effect requiring the collection of those samples from girls younger than 14 who seek abortions.

Peter Brownlie, chief executive officer of Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri says:

“I think it’s an unfortunate law,”
