Many people assume that most women are pro-choice and that the pro-life movement is made up mostly of men. Nothing could be further from the truth – women outnumber men among pro-life activists and leaders, and polls often show higher levels of support for legalized abortion among men than among women. For example:
15 weeks – illegal to abort in every US state.
“In June 2000, an analysis of polling results by Alissa Rubin of the Los Angeles times concluded that “72% of women support a ban on all abortions after the first trimester of pregnancy, compared to only 58% of men.”

Dr. Aaron Kipnis, author of Knights without Armor, who counsels men who have problems dealing with their partners’ abortions:
“Not all men are disengaged from the process of giving life. Men naturally feel a biological imperative to parent. When a man feels he doesn’t have any say in the decision to be a father, it causes an additional psychological stress.”
Kerri–Ann Kiniorski “The Aftermath of Abortion” The American Feminist vol. 5 no. 1, Spring 1998 6 – 7
“The fetus has a right to life. But only the mother can protect that right.”
Abortionist Peter Huntingford, once an evangelical Christian converted by Billy Graham, now a doctor who has said publicly that “he would perform an abortion on any woman at any point in the pregnancy and for any reason.”
Quoted by Mary Kenny in Abortion: Whose Right? Institute of ideas (Hodder & Stoughton, 2002) 65 – 66
In a sense, this statement is true – only the mother can really protect her child. But If the child has a right to life, how can that right be conditional to the whim or choice of another person? It seems that this abortionist is moving the responsibility completely onto the mother shoulders, without acknowledging that he is the one doing the killing. Also, by using the term “mother” he seems to be admitting that the fetus is in fact a baby – you can’t be the “mother” to an undifferentiated clump of cells, you are a “mother” to a person, a child.
One doctor who performed “a small number” of abortions said the following:
“Strange as it may seem, I routinely murmur “excuse me” before I swat a fly. I can’t butcher a chicken without apologizing first. I have grieved for the cat that died beneath the wheels of my car.
Yes, I hold life sacred. But I’m also a pragmatist. I believe that the necessity of making choices forces us to view the sacredness of life as relative. That’s why I performed a small number of abortions when I was in family practice. I never did them without exploring all available options – for both the patient and myself. I also referred a few patients elsewhere for abortions I couldn’t do in good conscience.
Yet I am not pro-abortion. Nor am I against it. Anyone who is convinced of the absolute rightness of either position doesn’t fully understand the situation.”
Ted Merrill “Abortion: Extreme Views Ignore Reality” Medical Economics, July 15, 1996
Below are some pictures of abortions. Is it the pro-lifers who do not understand the situation, when they say that abortion is wrong?
A concerned mother testified in favor of a proposed law that would make it a crime for an adult to help a minor evade a state’s parental consent laws by taking her across state lines for an abortion.
Statement of Joyce Farley of Pennsylvania, Hearing on the Child Custody Protection Act before the Subcommittee on the Constitution, House Judiciary Committee, May 21, 1998:
“I’m here today to tell you why I support the Child Custody Protection Act. My daughter was a victim of several horrible crimes between the ages of 12 and 13. My child was provided alcohol, raped, and then taken out of state by a stranger to have an abortion. This stranger turned out to be the mother of the adult male who provided the alcohol and then raped my 12-year-old daughter while she was unconscious. The rapist’s mother arranged and paid for an abortion to be performed on my child. This woman lied and falsified records at the abortion clinic to make sure this abortion would be completed without my knowledge. The abortion had been arranged to destroy evidence – evidence that my 12-year-old daughter had been raped…
Following the abortion, the mother of the rapist dropped off my physically and emotionally battered child in another town 30 miles away from our home. The plan was to keep the rape and abortion a secret. If I’d not contacted the state police… when I found my child missing, she might not be alive today. Severe pain and bleeding revealed complications from an incomplete abortion. This required further medical care and a 2nd abortion to be performed…
The bill you are considering today may help prevent this from happening to my neighbor’s child, my future grandchildren, or any child in the United States. It has been 3 years since these crimes were committed, but my daughter still suffers physically and emotionally…”
Gwen Goldsmith, a 42-year-old actress and seminary student from Brooklyn, was recently interviewed by Lane for “The Abortion Diaries.” On the abortion she had:
“I believe that an abortion is a murder of a fetus — different ethically than the murder of a child, but still a death,…But I swatted a fly earlier; I’m a murderer. I’m also a carnivore. It’s a choice.”
NARAL demanded that a federally imposed 30 day waiting period should be mandated before sterilization, so women would not be coerced.
Karen Mulhauser, executive director of NARAL, fundraising letter, 1979. Judy Klemesrud “Complacency on Abortion: a Warning to Women” New York Times January 23, 1978, A 18
Now called NARAL Pro-Choice America, NARAL aggressively fights against any law that would require women to receive counseling at abortion clinics and wait 24 hours before their abortions. They even oppose posting signs in abortion clinic waiting rooms saying that women cannot be coerced into abortion
Author Clarke D Forsythe explained in of Abuse of Discretion: the inside Story of Roe Versus Wade (New York: Encounter Books, 2013) how, even when the courts were contemplating overturning Roe versus Wade in 1989, so few women considered abortion rights a priority:
“In 1989, around the time of the Supreme Court’s decision in Webster vs. Reproductive Health Services, which was publicized as a “threat” to “abortion rights,” a poll found that “only 2% of women considered abortion to be the most important issue for women’s organizations, compared to 27% who listed job equity and 5% [who said] childcare…”

Below you will find abortion pictures at different stages. Some of the abortion pictures are graphic, but they show the reality of abortion.
Note: I’m measuring by fetal age, counting from time of conception.
Before 6 weeks, an abortion leaves nothing that looks like body parts behind. The tiny embryo is completely shredded during the procedure. The embryo at that early stage does not have visible human features such as arms, legs, etc. . If you have a medical (by pill)abortion before 6 weeks, you will not see baby parts. (surgical abortions are seldom done before 7 weeks)
However, the embryo’s heart starts beating at 23 days and he or she (sex is determined at conception) has brain waves at the end of the 5th week. So even before 6 weeks she is a living, growing, tiny human being. But abortion pictures from 6 weeks and up show human body parts. At 6 weeks, fingers are just beginning to separate. The hand of a 6 week old baby in the womb looks like this.
The baby above is a six-week miscarriage still in the sac. A baby aborted at six weeks would look like this if the abortion was by pill. By the 7th week, very recognizable fetal parts are left behind.
7 weeks:
7 weeks after conception
At 8 weeks after conception, the baby looks even more human. You can see hands, feet, eyes, and ribs.

Now you have seen the abortion pictures. Do you find them hard to believe? Go to the Endowment for Human Development’s fetal development pages to verify that the abortion pictures are accurately labeled. Endowment for Human Development will show that the fetal development information given here is accurate. This website is not connected with the pro-life movement in any way and is not religious.
Its facts and footage (of living preborn babies in the womb) are taken from National Geographic.
Note: All pictures are labeled by the estimated age of the baby – counting weeks from the moment of conception. Counting length of pregnancy from a woman’s last period will add two weeks to the numbers.
