Kathleen Sebelius Calls Pictures of Aborted Babies a “Discomfort”

Secretary of health Kathleen Sebelius encountered pro-life protesters with pictures of aborted babies when she attended a fundraiser for NARAL Pro-Choice America (the fund raiser was also for Obama) Her only reaction to the signs depicting the torn apart bodies of the babies she supports killing was:

“It is a discomfort when you’re coming to lunch…”

Kate Michelman: “There will be a civil war…”

Kate Michelman:

“I think there will be a civil war if Roe versus Wade is overturned….”

Quoted in Roger Rosenblatt. Life Itself: Abortion in the American Mind (New York: Random House, 1992) 30

In a sense, there is a war already. And babies like this one are the casualties. (10 weeks)

Pro-Choice Author Roger Rosenblatt Admits Life Begins at Conception

Pro-Choice author Roger Rosenblatt said, in his book on abortion called Life Itself:

“I would be perfectly willing to concede that life begins at conception, yet I would still advocate a system in which the killing of an unborn child is preferable to forcing an unwilling mother to give birth.”

Roger Rosenblatt. Life Itself: Abortion in the American Mind (New York: Random House, 1992) 10

Is it better to kill this ten week old unborn baby or “force” the mother (who 99% of the time chose the act that created the child) to have her baby?

This is what her ten week old baby would look like if she made the choice to abort. This is what the author is advocating:

Professor Explains Her Support for Harvesting the Organs of Aborted Babies

14 week old unborn baby

Mary Anne Warren, a philosopher at San Francisco State University, “Can the Fetus Be an Organ Farm?” Hastings Center Report, October 1978, pages 23 – 25

“fetuses, especially those as old as five or six months, elicit our sympathy, and tempt us to endow them with moral rights, not only because they are potential people, but because they look disconcertingly like people; their physical features are recognizably human. This sympathy is misplaced… A proper respect for the right to life requires that it not be respected where does not exist.”

In this article, Warren promoted the idea of using aborted baby’s organs for research on transplantation.

Pro-Choice Chaplain Defends Abortion

Pro-Choice chaplain George Patterson:

Aborted baby

“Life is a gift from God. I believe that very strongly. But conception of the child is not a result of divine intervention. It is a human act between two people. We have to accept responsibility for that.  And there may be times when responsibility involves terminating pregnancy… Life that is most vulnerable deserves our greatest protection. That applies not only to the life of the fetus but the life of the pregnant woman. I don’t think [religion] gives us any clear and specific guidance on how we shall not sin. And for that reason I think we have to respect the right of the individual conscience.”

Roger Rosenblatt. Life Itself: Abortion in the American Mind (New York: Random House, 1992) 168, 169 – 170

Planned Parenthood Reacts to Doctor Who Dumped Aborted Babies in An Abandoned Field

“Oklahoma doctor says he dumped fetuses” USA Today, April 17, 1992

Pro-Choice Planned Parenthood official Jane Johnson on the discovery of the remains of aborted babies, which were found dumped in a field in Oklahoma.  The abortionist, Dr. Nareshkumar Gandalal Patel,  admitted dumping the remains over 60 aborted children.

Germaine Greer On Abortion

Feminist Germaine Greer says the following about abortion:

“A ten-week foetus is not pink jelly, but only the woman who loses her baby spontaneously is likely to know how human the tiny creature was and to grieve for it for the rest of her life. Women presenting for abortion…are shielded from grief…and from guilt.”

Germaine Greer “Sex and Destiny: The Politics of Human Fertility ” Olympic Marketing Corp; Reprint edition (April 1985)

It is often only later, when a woman learns the facts about fetal development, that she begins to feel intense grief and guilt. The abortion clinic may hide the facts about the unborn baby, but they cannot censor everything the woman sees for the rest of her life. Eventually, she will be exposed to the truth – and in the emotional fallout can be agonizing.

Pro-Choice Reader Comments on Twin Reduction

“I’d have a much easier time aborting a single baby or both twins than doing a reduction. When you reduce, the remaining twin will remain a persistent reminder of the unborn child. I think that, more than anything would make killing that fetus feel like killing another human, even though it wasn’t fully developed. It would feel that way because you would have a living copy of the person you killed.”’

Comment from pro-choice reader. She is well aware that abortion is killing an unborn baby. “The Complicated Ethics of Twin Reduction” Jezebel, Aug 12, 2011

Abortion and Killing

Planned Parenthood:

Either a hand-held suction device or a suction machine gently empties your uterus.

One Holocaust scholar observed that, after poring through thousands of Nazi documents, he happened upon the word “killing” only once – in an edict concerning dogs.

“The language used gave Nazi doctors a discourse in which killing is no longer killing; and need not be experienced, or even perceived as killing.”

Abortion Rights Columnist Anne Roiphe Comments on the Effectiveness of Pictures

Abortion rights columnist Anne Roiphe:

“The antiabortion forces will again display horrible pictures of the technique, which they call partial-birth abortion. Although few in the abortion rights movement take this approach seriously, it has emotional resonance and arose public support for all abortion.”

Anne Roiphe, “Moment of Perception” New York Times, September 19, 1996
