Abortion patient; I was scared for my life

One abortion patient describes her experience in an abortion clinic:

“I was scared for my life, I was at a loss for words. It was crazy. I don’t think they should be allowed to reopen. That’s dealing with someone’s life. If they can’t do it right, they don’t need to even be open.”

NOW comments on shut down abortion clinic

Cheryl Sabel, President, Montgomery chapter of the National Organization for Women, about a clinic that was shut down due to filthy conditions

“Every time a women’s health clinic closes, it is a huge blow for women and it’s very unfortunate. But women must be protected, and there are standards — as there are for every health care facility — and every facility needs to abide by the rules.”

Abortionist does 8 abortions per hour

“Dr. Ming K. Hah, reputed to be the fastest abortionist in Chicago, vacuums the unborn to smithereens at a breakneck pace: 8 abortions per hour, forty per day. His productivity rate is so impressive that he sometimes performs two abortions simultaneously.”

Abortionists refuse to use anesthesia, punish women

“… Reported in the Los Angeles Times on April 5, 1992. Canada’s Northwest Territories Status of Women Council reported that 85 women had suffered agonizing pain during abortions that were performed without anesthetics at Stanton Yellowknife Hospital. One of the women, who were mostly of Indian and Inuit (Eskimo) ethnicity, reported that as the doctor completed the abortion, he said, “This really hurt, didn’t it? But let that be a lesson before you get yourself in this situation again.” Another victim who had become pregnant after being raped reported that the abortion had been far worse than the rape. She stated that she had been pinned down during the abortion and had experienced excruciating pain. The victim was given no counseling and no sympathy. One woman who was scheduled to undergo both an abortion and a tubal ligation reported that just before the abortion, she was advised by the doctor that, “the anesthesiologist does not believe in abortions; we will administer the anesthetic following the abortion, for the tubal ligation.”

New York Times write about dangerous abortion clinics

The New York Times, commenting on dangerous and poorly run abortion clinics in New York:

“No one knows how many such fly-by-night surgeries there are in New York City or how many abortions they produce. But law enforcement officials and medical experts say dozens of these clinics are believed to be tucked away behind storefronts and in more ordinary looking doctors’ offices and they are believed responsible for scores or even hundreds of illegal or incompetent abortions annually.”

Family Planning organizations tell women to lie, put their health at risk

“At the Dundalk office of the Irish Family Planning Association (IFPA), a client was told she could lie to her doctor about having had an abortion, advice that could put a woman’s life at risk, Professor Sam Coulter Smith, the master of Dublin’s Rotunda Hospital, has warned.

He said he was aware of cases where women have died because they did not tell their doctors they’d had a termination….

At two Dublin branches of the IFPA in Tallaght and Cathal Brugha Street, women were also told they could conceal their abortions from doctors.

The same advice was given by a HSE employee at Ballinasloe Crisis Pregnancy Support Service in Galway.

In response, Dr Simon Mills, a barrister and medical doctor, said: “It is definitely reckless and probably negligent advice to tell a woman to conceal from doctors something that may be a vital part of her medical history.

“This is especially the case if she presented unwell in the immediate aftermath of a termination and felt that she shouldn’t tell her doctor about it when it could be the key piece of information to deliver prompt and life-saving treatment….-

At Dundalk IFPA, a woman was told: “Now when you go for medical attention they have no way of knowing that you have had an abortion. You need to say that you had a miscarriage. They will know you were pregnant but you need to say that you had a miscarriage.”

Former clinic worker makes accusations

A Nebraska clinic worker who was fired claim that the reason she was let go was that she was threatening to report an abortionist for substandard care. The clinic worker alleged that her boss would fall asleep while administering anesthesia, would operate while talking on the phone, and that he left a patient unattended on the table in the middle of an abortion.

The abortionist denied the charges and said she was reacting out of “sour grapes” because he had fired her.

About drug use in abortion referral clinic

The Clergy Consultation Services had centers where abortion minded women came to be referred for abortions before and right after Roe Vs. Wade. Norma Goldberger ,who would later run an abortion clinic, wrote about getting a job at one.

“After interviewing me, and making sure I was pro-choice since I was visibly pregnant, he offered me the counseling position, saying I was the answer to his prayers. He explained he was inundated with women seeking information on how to secure an abortion.… The Rev. sent me over to a free clinic called Open Door Clinic, which served many of the students of the Ohio State University… Since I was about six months pregnant, I needed to assure everyone that I was pro-choice…

The clinic solicited free drugs from doctors’ offices presumably to dispense in our free medical clinics. The other staff members were all hired because it is in the knowledge of drugs and drug use. The first thing they did was to scour the drug donations for “useful” medications for themselves.”
