Post-Abortion Women More Likely to Be Pro-life Activists

An article in Planned Parenthood’s family planning perspectives gives the results of sociologist Donald Granberg study of the nation’s two largest groups supporting and opposing abortion. Of National Right to Life female membership 245,000 have had abortions, of NARAL’s membership 39,000 had abortions. Therefore:

women who had abortions are six times more likely to be pro-life activists than pro-choice activists

Donald Granberg “The Abortion Activists” Family Planning Perspectives, July – August 1991, 157 – 163

These statistics are from the early 90s, but there are still very many post-abortion women in the pro-life movement.
