Abortion doctor: “I hate Christians”

Author Joan Pendergast wrote about a conversation with a practicing abortionist that a friend related to her:

“During the course of the evening a surgeon friend of ours at the party told me something very sad. He talked about an abortion doctor he knew who recently told him: “I hate Christians because they know they are forgiven, and I know God will never forgive me for what I do.”

Richard Nixon and abortion racism

President Richard Nixon said the following about abortion.

“A majority of people in Colorado voted for abortion; I think a majority of people in Michigan are for abortion; I think in both cases, well, certainly in Michigan they want to vote for it because they think that what’s going to be aborted generally are the little black bastards.”

CPC: 95% of women who saw sonogram of their baby chose life

A pro-life book revealed the following statistics:

“In one report from a crisis pregnancy center in Ohio – with no ultrasound administered – just 20% of abortion minded clients continued with their pregnancies. But when an ultrasound was administered, 95% of the women continued on with their pregnancies.”

Grandmother of aborted baby “cries often”

One woman tells her story:

“My story is different since I am the grandmother in this situation, and my daughter chose to have an abortion. I personally did not agreed [sic] with her decision, yet I did not condemn my daughter for her choice. My heart cries often for that precious life that I now believe is with our Lord in heaven. No one knows of my placing a plaque at this Memorial for my lost grandchild…

I will always cry for that precious life I will never know down here. This small gift of a Memorial is all I can do other than pray.”

Women often mourn after an abortion. Men can too. And other family members are affected as well.

National Medical Association President: Women don’t die from lack of abortions

Williams Jasper, Jr., M.D, Bernard Hospital, Chicago, Illinois, Past President of the National Medical Association, talks about why abortions are not needed to save women’s lives:

“Since 1953, I have never seen a patient die who died because she needed an abortion and it could not be performed…Doctors now have tools and the knowledge with which to work so that they can handle almost any disease a patient may have, whether the patient is pregnant or not, and without interrupting the pregnancy.”

This statement was made in 1981

Pregnant women don’t commit suicide if they can’t get abortions

When pro-abortion activists were fighting to make abortion legal, one argument they tried to use was that women who were denied abortion would kill themselves. Even before Roe V Wade, psychologists granted abortions to women who claimed that their pregnancies would drive them to commit suicide.

Dr. Bernard Nathanson, former abortionist and co-founder of the pro-abortion group NARAL, who later became pro-life, said:

“Women do not kill themselves and never have as a result of being pregnant. Interestingly, when we were pushing abortion – we, meaning the high command of the National Abortion Rights Action League, including myself, (Larry) Lader, (Betty) Friedan, in the late ’60s, we asked the Medical Examiner of New York City to go through his files to discover, to give us a figure on how many women who were pregnant had killed themselves, were suicides as a result merely of being pregnant…The Medical Examiner was unable to give us even one case, one case, where a woman had clearly committed suicide because she was pregnant…this was in New York City – so we were chagrined and never, of course, publicized that finding.”

Testimony before the Court of Queen’s Bench for Saskatchewan in the Borowski case (Borowski v. The Attorney General of Canada, Transcript of Evidence and Proceedings at Trial, page 409, Regina Saskatchewan, May, 1983)

Another report found the following fact:  In the city of Birmingham, with a population of 1,250,000, there was only one case of suicide of a pregnant woman over a twelve-year period.

Sim and Neisser (“Post-abortion Psychoses: A Report from Two Centers,” in The Psychological Aspects of Abortion, eds. D. Mall and W.F. Watts, University Publications of America, Washington, D.C.,1979)

However, based on two studies using medical records, there is a 6-7 times higher suicide rate for women who have abortions. For teens, it is 10x higher.

Abortion clinic administrator makes excuses about patient’s death

Susanne Renee Logan was left severely paralyzed following her abortion at the Hillview Women’s Medical Surgical abortion clinic in Suitland Maryland. Able-bodied and normal before the abortion, she lived out her remaining years in a nursing home.

The clinic’s administrator Barbara Lofton made the following statement:

“If you provide a certain number [of abortions], no matter how good you are, no matter what the qualifications are, there are sometimes circumstances. There are probably no facilities without some complications.”

And in response to accusations that the clinic did not know how to handle an emergency situation-she had this to say,

“Obviously, the report from the paramedics was written by a pro-life person. There were many fabrications in the report.”

“2 Tragedies Raise Doubts About Suitland Clinic ;Abortion Patient, Left Paralyzed, Files Suit” The Washington Post 8-13-1990

The clinic would go on to nearly kill at least one other woman.

Planned Parenthood abortionist: I “empty the uterus”

Maureen Paul, the chief medical officer at Planned Parenthood Golden Gate, describes performing a partial birth abortion (see diagram below). She is speaking out against the partial birth abortion ban.

“I know what my purpose is. That my purpose in bringing … the fetal trunk out past the navel is to empty the uterus in the safest way possible. Yet [the ban] implies that I have this other purpose, which is to kill the fetus.”

Steven Ertelt “Despite Research, Planned Parenthood Doc Says Abortion Has No Complications” LifeNews.com March 30, 2004

Obviously, in an abortion, the fetus is killed. If the baby were removed alive, it would not be an abortion, but a delivery.

This diagram shows how partial birth abortions are done:

Dr. Jerome Lejeune: life begins at fertilzation

In March 1990, Dr. Jerome Lejeune, one of the world’s leading geneticists, testified before the Canadian Legislative Committee studying Bill C-43, An act Respecting Abortion. Dr. Lejeune told the Parliamentary Committee:

“We know, beyond any possible, doubt, that when the sperm enters the ovum all the information required to make a human being…is present. We also know, with the same degree of certainty, that no subsequent genetic information, after fertilization is passed on to a human being.

This is neither the opinion of a moralist nor the hypothesis of a metaphysician, it is a very specific observation made in the course of experiment. If it were not true that all the information required to define each human being is present at fertilization, In-Vitro Fertilization would not be possible. If a human being did not exist at fertilization, it would be impossible for a sperm to enter an ovum in a test tube and for the embryo that may result to be transferred to a woman who is not the biological mother. In other words, the fact that In-Vitro Fertilization exists proves, beyond a doubt, that human life begins at fertilization.”

Postabortion woman: I was in denial for 21 years

Karen Bodle of Pennsylvania, who had an abortion:

“There is a disconnect in every woman’s heart and mind when she consents to abortion. Although she tries to forget the abortion and suppress the memories, eventually she will face the reality that her own child was mutilated by abortion. My denial lasted 21 years. I wept uncontrollably from the depths of my soul for three days when I finally faced the truth.”
