“I like abortion” says pro-choicer

Pro-abortion advocate Sady Doyle comments on Katha Pollit’s idea that abortion is a great thing:

Abortion saves lives, improves lives, and makes for a stronger society. ….Personally, I like abortion. I’ve never needed one. I’m still glad to have the option. I’m glad for the people I’ve known who got pregnant at the wrong time, with the wrong people, and didn’t have their lives ruined by it.

If Pollitt gets her way, more of us might feel free to admit that, hey: We like abortion.

It didn’t save or improve the life of the baby below.

Abortion supporter compares babies to mold and weeds

Patricia Beninato, founder of the now defunct site Imnotsorry.net, where women wrote positive stories about their abortions, said:

Yes, a fetus is alive. But weeds are life and mold is life and bugs are life and we destroy those on a regular basis. Pro-lifers want to give the impression that abortion is someone ripping a full-term baby out of a woman’s womb and dashing its brains out against the nearest wall, when in actuality the average abortion-nearly 90 percent-is done within the first trimester.

Lynn Vincent “Victims of their own choice” World Magazine April 09, 20

Even in the first trimester, at 10 weeks, the baby is far from being mold. He or she is a fully developed child.

Even at the average time most abortions are done, the embryo is far more developed than Beninato acknowledges.

Abortion is birth control, says pro-choicer

Patricia Beninato, who once ran a site called Imnotsorry.net where women shared positive abortion stories, says that abortion is birth control:

One of the peeves I have is that there seems to be a mindset even within the pro-choice community that having to get one abortion is OK, but anything after that and you’re a dumb slut who doesn’t know how to use birth control. I often hear younger women say things like, “Well, yeah, the condom can break or whatever, but I don’t believe in people using abortion as birth control.” Um . . . abortion is birth control, just a more expensive and intrusive version of it.

“A fetus becomes a human being when the woman decides it does”

From pro-abortion supporter Joyce Arthur:

“So all in all, a woman’s reasons for having an abortion are ethical. … A fetus becomes a human being when the woman carrying it decides it does. Pro-choice leaders and activists are wrong to encourage debate on the status of the fetus. They are wrong to publicly speculate on its moral value. Their opinion about the fetus is just as irrelevant and just as dangerous as the opinion of the most fanatical anti-choicer. Because when we inject our opinions about the fetus into the public square, it just shows our lack of respect and trust for the moral authority of pregnant women. “

Joyce Arthur. “The Fetus Focus Fallacy.Pro-Choice Press [Pro-Choice Action Network], March 2005

Pro-choicer Abortion is like pulling up a weed

A pro-abortion teenager says abortion is like pulling up a weed:

“… I really don’t think it could be called murder; I think it’s silly when people go on like that. It’s alive but it’s not an animal or person really yet. It’s like pulling up a weed in your garden… I don’t think that through most of the pregnancy the unborn child really enters into it.”

Judith G. Smetana Concepts of Self and Morality: Women’s Reasoning about Abortion (New York: Praeger Special Studies, 1982) 125

A preborn baby is a developing human being. By the time most abortions take place, the baby has a heartbeat and brainwaves. Most abortions take place between 7-9 weeks. Below is a picture of a seven week old preborn baby:

After an abortion, the 7 week old child looks like this:

Humane Choice is abortion says Pro-choicer

Pro-choice author Frances Ryan claims aborting disabled babies is “the humane choice”:

“There are times when abortion is the humane choice… It’s okay to say that out loud. The thought doesn’t suggest a disabled life is worth less, but acknowledges the extra time, energy, and money a severely disabled life needs.”

Frances Ryan “How Pro-Lifers Hijacked the Paralympics” The Guardian, October 30, 2012

Pro-Choicer compares preborn baby to thumbnail

Lori, 21, on abortion:

“The decision is up to her. It’s a matter of her body. And it’s like a thumbnail or a tumor. But I see the issue as being pretty much it’s her control over her body.”

Seminarian: abortion was “the most loving thing I could do”

Seminarian Kelli Clement, one of the co-chairs of Seminarians for Choice, part of the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, a pro-abortion group.

“Choice is what makes us human, The choice to regulate our own family is a way to love. I have never regretted my choice to terminate that pregnancy…. It was the most loving thing I could do.”

Jeff Fecke “Seminarian Pro-Choice Because of Her Faith” Rh Reality Check March 17, 2008

Here is what the “loving” choice to “terminate a pregnancy” actually looks like:

week-10-18

At 10 weeks after conception, this baby was torn apart by an abortion. this is the kind of “love” shown to a baby who is “terminated.”

This is in the first trimester, well within the time when most abortions are done.

Abortion is a choice of love, honesty, compassion

From pro-abortion writer Valerie Tarico:

“Whether or not we are religious, deciding whether to keep or terminate a pregnancy is a process steeped in spiritual values: responsibility, stewardship, love, honesty, compassion, freedom, balance, discernment. But how often do we hear words like these coming from pro-choice advocates?”
