Embryo is “Human Life” But Abortion is Still OK

Ann Furedi, the chief executive of the largest independent abortion provider in the UK, said this in a 2008 debate:

“We can accept that the embryo is a living thing in the fact that it has a beating heart, that it has its own genetic system within it. It’s clearly human in the sense that it’s not a gerbil, and we can recognize that it is human life… the point is not when does human life begin, but when does it really begin to matter?”

Jane English, Pro-Choice Activist, On Late-Term Abortion

Pro-Choice apologist Jane English asserts:

“…the similarity of the fetus to a baby is very significant. A fetus one week before birth is so much like a newborn baby in our psychological space that we cannot allow any cavalier treatment of the former while expecting full sympathy and support for the latter… An early horror story from New York about nurses who were expected to alternate between caring for six-week premature infants and disposing of viable 24 week aborted fetuses is just that — a horror story.”

24-week-old unborn baby

Baby aborted at this age:

Abortions at this age are often performed by injecting poison into the heart of the baby (or sometimes just into the amniotic fluid, which causes a slow death)and inducing labor. In other cases, these babies are dismembered.

Sen. Barbara Boxer Opposes Unborn Victims of Violence Act In Spite Of Grieving Mother

Tracy Marcianiak was five days away from giving birth to her son who she had named Zachariah on February 8, 1992 when her estranged husband came to the apartment and punched her in the stomach. She miscarried her baby and spent three weeks in the hospital herself. She lived in Milwaukee and Wisconsin law had no legislation saying that the killing of an unborn baby was a crime.

The Unborn Victims of Violence Act was legislation that would make killing a wanted unborn baby a felony. Pro-choice activists argued against this bill, which ended up passing.

According to Marcianiak:

“My son was five days from full term, and for them to tell me my son was nothing, it’s just wrong. Where were my child’s rights when he was ripped from my womb and killed, and I was told he was nothing?”

“Senate Passes Unborn Victims Bill” Fox news.com March 26, 2004, Debra Rosenberg, “The War over Fetal Rights” Newsweek, June 9, 2003

Marcianiak is pro-choice, but cannot understand pro-choice opposition to the bill. According to pro-abortion Sen. Barbara Boxer, who opposed the bill:

“They want to undermine Roe versus Wade and a woman’s right to choose. It shocks me. I’m at a loss for words, and that’s hard for me to be.”

Planned Parenthood: “Abortion Kills the Life of a Baby”

A 1962 Planned Parenthood pamphlet stated that:

“An abortion kills the life of a baby after it has begun. It is dangerous to your life and health. It may make you sterile so that when you want a child you cannot have it. Birth control merely postpones the beginning of life.”

Plan Your Children, Planned Parenthood 1962

Planned Parenthood is now the biggest abortion provider in the country. The science of genetics and embryology has not changed since this was written.

Senator Lyn Allison on Abortion

Pro-choice Senator LYN ALLISON

“It is galling listening to the men, and it is mostly men, who have such contempt for women who terminate unwanted pregnancies, who have neither the compassion nor the understanding of the huge and, for many, daunting task of taking an embryo the size of a grain of rice to adulthood.”

Stephanie Peatling “One in three Women Have An Abortion, and I am one of them” Sydney Morning Herald, Feb 9, 2006

In reality, polls show that women are more pro-life than men. A typical abortion is done on an unborn baby at 7-11 weeks. Here is an 8 week old unborn baby.

And here is what it looks like when an unborn baby of this age is aborted:

Pro-Choice Activist Malcolm Potts Admits that Pro-Choicers Lie About Illegal Abortions

Pro-Choice activist Malcolm Potts, who campaigned to make abortion legal all over the world:

“Those who want the [abortion] law to be liberalized will stress the hazards of illegal abortion and claim that hundreds, or thousands, of women die unnecessarily each year when the actual number is far lower.”

Abortion a “Good Moral Decision” Says Pro-Choicer

From pro-choice speaker Barbara Ferrero:

“We believe that the decision to have an abortion could be a good moral decision. We believe that women need to be seen is making good moral decisions for their own lives.”

Speech delivered at Marquette University, November 2, 1987 quoted in Monica Migliorino Miller Abandoned: the Untold Story of the Abortion Wars (Charlotte, North Carolina: St. Benedict Press, 2012) 65

is this ever a “good moral decision?”

Psychologist: Having Abortion “Healthy” and “Maturing” Experience

Henry P David, psychologist active in the international abortion movement, said the following:

“[the decision to have an abortion] represents a healthy coping with reality, a maturing experience.”

In reality, abortion often leads to emotional distress and mental health issues in women. Read some of the studies about abortion’s psychological impact here.
