Planned Parenthood president is “fully aware” an abortion kills a baby

On the Donahue show, Faye Wattleton admitted that abortion destroys babies.

September 6, 1991, dialogue involving Faye Wattleton on Donahue, according to Transcript #3288:

Randall Terry: “It’s not a frog or a ferret that’s being killed. It’s a baby.”

Faye Wattleton: “I am fully aware of that. I am fully aware of that.”

Ultrasound images don’t show that unborn babies have “human qualities” say pro-choicers

From an article entitled “Foetus scans fuel abortion debate”:

12 week sonogram

“Moving ultrasound images showing 12-week-old foetuses sucking their thumbs and appearing to “walk” do not prove they have feelings and provide no scientific evidence for lowering the age limit for abortion, experts said yesterday.”

….

The moving images showed that unborn babies can stretch, kick and leap around from 12 weeks, make intricate finger movements at 15 weeks and yawn at 20 weeks. They also revealed that 18-week-old foetuses can open their eyes.

The images were used by the anti-abortion lobby to argue against the 24-week limit. But yesterday three neonatal experts warned that the scans, though “fantastic”, provided no fresh scientific evidence to justify lowering the limit.”

Pro-choice activists were quick with damage control:

Huseyin Mehmet, a reader in developmental neurobiology who is pro-choice:

“I worried when I saw those images. These images do not prove that those human qualities can be attributed to a foetus of 12 weeks.”

12 weeks

Donald Peebles, a consultant in foetal medicine at University College London:

“The temptation is to associate foetal movements with adult movements – it’s sucking its thumb because it’s happy, it’s walking because it’s going somewhere. I think it’s that step which is extraordinarily dangerous. I don’t think in scientific terms these shed any new light whatsoever on the debate.”

Does anyone really believe what these so-called “experts” are saying- that the scans mean nothing and do not show that an unborn baby has “human qualities?” (whatever that means?) An unborn baby IS human. it is not a duck, not a fish, but a human  being in an early stage of development.

A prayer to Artemis (Ritualizing RU-486)

“We’ll initiate our daughters into the women’s mysteries, such as charting our reproductive rhythms, remembering the midwives’ potions; and perhaps with dignity we’ll ritualize the RU 486 pill with prayers to Artemis or the Divine Mother, She who gives and takes life.”

Brenda Peterson, October 1993 issue of New Age Journal (“Sister Against Sister,” p.66)

RU-486 is used to kill unborn babies at 9 weeks and younger.(Although in reality it is only meant to abort pregnancies up to 7 weeks) here are some pictures of babies that could be killed by RU-486.All of these children have beating hearts and brain waves. All are under 9 weeks.

Frances Kissling on “the moral issues of abortion”

Some pro-choice activists concede that they are losing support from the public. As more and more pro-life laws are passed, some pro-choice leaders have toyed around with framing their opposition to abortion in a different way. From the President of Catholics for Free Choice, Frances Kissling:

“There is a deep-seated fear that if you address the moral issues, you’re going to lose. But we’re losing anyway. It’s only by addressing the moral issues that we’ll get some relief on the political questions.”

Prochoicer: granting rights to fetus is “an utter perversion of individual rights”

Aborted baby at 13 weeks

“Banning any type of abortion to “protect the fetus” necessarily grants rights to the fetus–an utter perversion of individual rights. If a woman has no right to her own body, then by what logic does a fetus (which, by definition, is a biological parasite) have a right to the woman’s body? Properly, an infant’s rights begin after the fetus is removed from the mother’s body and its umbilical cord cut. …. Once “fetal rights” are granted to one stage of the pregnancy, nothing will prevent their extension to all stages. “Fetal rights” are a gimmick to destroy a woman’s individual rights.”

Killing but not murder, says pro-choice writer

8 weeks

Pro-choice writer Molly Coddle:

“Abortion is killing, but not murder. Americans would like to think that death is avoidable, and for that reason liberals have tried to sugarcoat a women’s right to choose with an “it’s-not-about-the-fetus” argument that disregards the emotional intensity that everyone I know has experienced when choosing to abort. When we recognize that something is dying—if only a possibility of life—then it’s possible to grieve and move forward.”

Pro-choice activist: illegal abortion providers were “skilled and competent”

Shelley Mains, pro-choice activist(Commenting on the book, Abortion Wars) :

“In what may be surprising to many feminists and prochoice activists, Solinger debunks the image of the exploitive, unskilled practitioner lurking behind every botched abortion before Roe. She points out that most illegal abortions were actually performed by skilled and competent practitioners, and that today’s attacks on abortion providers draw fuel from a “misreading of the past that says that cravenly greedy back-alley butchers were the chief source of danger to helpless women in the criminal era.” This persistent myth adopted by feminists as well as our opponents — has contributed to a climate today in which abortion providers are easily targeted for violence and too often defended only with reluctance.”

ACLU comments on the display of the bodies of aborted babies

Joseph Scheidler and Monica Miller held a press conference outside an abortion clinic where they showed the bodies 0f aborted babies that they had dug out of the clinic’s trash.

Colleen Connell who headed up the Reproductive Rights Project of the ACLU, said:

“Basically, the parade in front of the 30 S. Michigan clinic was nothing but a shameless effort to exploit the human emotions that are invoked any time people see blood. I think what’s deliberately obscured by the organizers of that March is the real issue of whether a woman has a constitutional right to control her own reproductive functions… And what the protesters have done today is an attempt to manipulate public opinion by showing the byproducts that we’d really see in the consequence of any surgery.”

Monica Migliorino Miller Abandoned: the Untold Story of the Abortion Wars (Charlotte, North Carolina: St. Benedict Press, 2012)

Here is a picture of one of the babies Miller found in the garbage of the abortion clinic

The baby in this picture is 10 weeks old

One clearly see that this is a dead child, not simply “blood” or like”the product of any surgery”. Confronted with the reality of abortion, misleading quotes like the one above are the best the pro-choice movement can do.

The “full humanity” of the fetus

Pro-choice advocate Naomi Wolf:

“Abortion should be legal; it is sometimes even necessary. Sometimes the mother must be able to decide that the fetus, in its full humanity, must die.  But it is never right or necessary to minimize the value of the lives involved or the sacrifice incurred in letting them go.”

Massachusetts Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice director on post-abortion problems

Rosemary Candelario, director of Massachusetts Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, on why pro-choice groups often claim that abortion does not contribute to emotional trauma for women:

“I think the fear in the [abortion rights] movement is if we admit abortion is hard for some women, then we’re admitting that it’s wrong, which is totally not the case. I’ve heard from women who are having problems dealing with their abortion who are still ardently pro-choice.”
