Preborn babies show individuality in the third month

This is from a statement titled “The Unborn Person Is Also a Patient” presented by a group of more than 200 doctors, many of whom were members of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. It was part of a Friend of the Court Brief filed before the United States Supreme Court:

“Every child shows a distinct individuality in his behavior by the end of the third month [in the womb]. This is because the actual structure of the muscles varies from baby to baby. The alignment of the muscles of the face, for example, following an inherited pattern.”

Woman encouraged to have an abortion by her friends

A woman who was considering abortion was encouraged by her friends to have one. She says:

“My girlfriends tried to guide me by sharing their stories of abortion. I didn’t say it out loud, but I thought to myself, “Who are you trying to convince that abortion is okay, me or you?”

Barbara Horak Real Abortion Stories: The Hurting and the Healing (El Paso, Texas: Strive for the Best Publishing, 2007) 38

She had the abortion, and later regretted it deeply.

Midwife talks about babies born alive after abortions

From midwife M.B.:

A midwife for almost 9 years, I can testify that babies born from late abortions (case of abortion on medical grounds) without feticide, usually between 20 and 24 weeks gestation, may be born alive. The medical team is then often uncomfortable and either puts the baby in a tray in a separate room until he stops showing signs of life, or asks a gynecologist, anesthetist or pediatrician for a morphine injection in the cord that some accept … or not. For my part, I have already proposed to concerned couples that if the baby was alive at birth, to lay him on the woman’s stomach for him to die with dignity. Two couples agreed.

I recently decided not to participate in abortions on demand or abortions on medical grounds and to apply my conscience clause, which I can do because I am incumbent. I will probably leave the relevant services, including the delivery room. Those contractual employees who would apply their conscience clause are threatened with not having their contracts renewed.

In my experience, I’ve come to the conclusion that in order to protect the right to abortion, an embryo or fetus is considered to be a person by medical practitioners under two conditions:

1. The child must be wanted by the parents and

2. The child must be “normal” and not “disabled” (with all the risks that such a subjective term permits).

As soon as the fetus fails to meet these conditions, it is just considered to be waste… It’s terrible to say, but that is the truth.

Clinic worker; Abortion part of “rich texture of people’s lives”

7 and 9 weeks
7 and 9 weeks

From an abortion clinic worker:

I feel abortion is part of life… I could just as easily work in a fertility clinic as an abortion clinic, or in an adoption agency, because it is all part of the rich texture of people’s lives.”

She completely misses the point that abortion kills a baby.

Abortion doctor: “I hate Christians”

Author Joan Pendergast wrote about a conversation with a practicing abortionist that a friend related to her:

“During the course of the evening a surgeon friend of ours at the party told me something very sad. He talked about an abortion doctor he knew who recently told him: “I hate Christians because they know they are forgiven, and I know God will never forgive me for what I do.”

Richard Nixon and abortion racism

President Richard Nixon said the following about abortion.

“A majority of people in Colorado voted for abortion; I think a majority of people in Michigan are for abortion; I think in both cases, well, certainly in Michigan they want to vote for it because they think that what’s going to be aborted generally are the little black bastards.”

CPC: 95% of women who saw sonogram of their baby chose life

National Medical Association President: Women don’t die from lack of abortions

Williams Jasper, Jr., M.D, Bernard Hospital, Chicago, Illinois, Past President of the National Medical Association, talks about why abortions are not needed to save women’s lives:

“Since 1953, I have never seen a patient die who died because she needed an abortion and it could not be performed…Doctors now have tools and the knowledge with which to work so that they can handle almost any disease a patient may have, whether the patient is pregnant or not, and without interrupting the pregnancy.”

Abortion clinic administrator makes excuses about patient’s death

Susanne Renee Logan was left severely paralyzed following her abortion at the Hillview Women’s Medical Surgical abortion clinic in Suitland Maryland. Able-bodied and normal before the abortion, she lived out her remaining years in a nursing home.

The clinic’s administrator Barbara Lofton made the following statement:

“If you provide a certain number [of abortions], no matter how good you are, no matter what the qualifications are, there are sometimes circumstances. There are probably no facilities without some complications.”

And in response to accusations that the clinic did not know how to handle an emergency situation-she had this to say,

“Obviously, the report from the paramedics was written by a pro-life person. There were many fabrications in the report.”

“2 Tragedies Raise Doubts About Suitland Clinic ;Abortion Patient, Left Paralyzed, Files Suit” The Washington Post 8-13-1990

The clinic would go on to nearly kill at least one other woman.

Planned Parenthood abortionist: I “empty the uterus”

Maureen Paul, the chief medical officer at Planned Parenthood Golden Gate, describes performing a partial birth abortion (see diagram below). She is speaking out against the partial birth abortion ban.

“I know what my purpose is. That my purpose in bringing … the fetal trunk out past the navel is to empty the uterus in the safest way possible. Yet [the ban] implies that I have this other purpose, which is to kill the fetus.”

Steven Ertelt “Despite Research, Planned Parenthood Doc Says Abortion Has No Complications” LifeNews.com March 30, 2004

Obviously, in an abortion, the fetus is killed. If the baby were removed alive, it would not be an abortion, but a delivery.

This diagram shows how partial birth abortions are done:
