0.005% of abortions in England were done for risk to woman’s life

The following was cited in “ABORTION A Briefing Book For Canadian Legislators” Campaign Life Coalition NATIONAL PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICE July 2002

“The British Hansard Written Answers of July 1, 1987 discloses that of 2.6 million abortions carried out in England and Wales between 1968 and 1986, 123 (or .005 percent) were performed to save the life of the mother.”

Many doctors, including abortionists, have said that abortion is never needed to save the life of a woman.

Woman is grateful for her 3 abortions, but considers them “morally wrong”

In a study in the Journal of American Culture, one postabortion woman said the following:

“I am extremely grateful for the choice I had in terminating three pregnancies. However, I believe they are morally wrong.”

Textbook describes abortion method where child is born alive

A textbook documents a type of abortion where babies are removed alive. This type of abortion, performed like doing a C-section, is rarely done today, but has been done in the past.

“After the first trimester, the traditional abortion technique consists of injecting a hormone-like substance (prostaglandin) or a saline solution into the amniotic fluid surrounding the fetus. When all other methods have failed, a hysterectomy is performed. This procedure is essentially a caesarean section and may result in the fetus being born alive.”

Father of child with down syndrome: I can’t imagine life without her

Writer Theo Malekin writes about his daughter, who has down syndrome:

“Around 80 percent of women who get a positive test for Down syndrome still choose to have an abortion. Yet I cannot think of any parents of a child with Down syndrome who would give them up for anything….

Hazel has had an array of specialists who have helped her learn to walk and talk and she goes to a regular elementary school with other ‘normal’ kids.

She still has challenges. We haven’t got her potty-trained yet. On the other hand, she knows her alphabet and she can count better than some of her classmates. ….

I do not love my daughter any less because she has Down syndrome. Her diagnosis says very little about who she is. She is not a disease or a syndrome but an individual: affectionate, naughty, infuriating at times, stubborn, self-willed and utterly charming.

Certainly she has medical problems and developmental challenges not faced by other children. I’m not saying those don’t exist. But they’re one part of a much bigger picture.…

It is also an argument for changing attitudes that appear self-evident to too much of the general population. You cannot know if someone else’s life is worth living without asking them and without even knowing them.

A disability does not necessarily stop you living a full, satisfying life. Oddly enough, I’m not sure that disabilities have anything to do with living full satisfying lives.

When it comes to Hazel, her life is not a burden to her family but an unending source of delight. For my part, I cannot imagine life without her. But most importantly, her life is valuable to herself, and definitely worth living.”

Sadly Theo Malekin supports legalized abortion despite his belief that his daughter’s life is valuable

Abortionist worries about nonprofitable counseling

From a New York Times article about the abortion pill:

“Dr. Steven Tamarin, a New York doctor in family practice, also applauds the approval of mifepristone. A member of the board of directors of Physicians for Reproductive Choice and Health, an organization of about 2,000 doctors who promote abortion rights, Dr. Tamarin said he was not worried about abortion opponents. But he has another concern: the time it takes to provide a mifepristone abortion. The drug agency requires that the women be counseled about the pill before using it.

”There’s no extra payment for doing the counseling,” Dr. Tamarin said.”

Gina Kolata.” Wary doctors spurn new abortion pill; some doctors insist that a surgical abortion remains a better alternative than the new pill.” The New York Times Nov 14, 2000

OBGYN: We have no idea how many people are hurt or killed by abortion

Monique Chireau, a professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the Duke University School of Medicine:

“The truth is we have no idea what the rates of morbidity and mortality for abortions are in the United States, because the data system is flawed. Despite all we may hear about abortion being a benign procedure, it’s really not. And it’s important to remember it’s elective. This is not lifesaving surgery or surgery for cancer.”

Pro-choice activist: I admit abortion is murder

Camille Paglia, a pro-choice activist and writer for Salon, says:

“…I have always frankly admitted that abortion is murder, the extermination of the powerless by the powerful. Liberals for the most part have shrunk from facing the ethical consequences of their embrace of abortion, which results in the annihilation of concrete individuals and not just clumps of insensate tissue. The state in my view has no authority whatever to intervene in the biological processes of any woman’s body, which nature has implanted there before birth and hence before that woman’s entrance into society and citizenship.

On the other hand, I support the death penalty for atrocious crimes (such as rape-murder or the murder of children). I have never understood the standard Democratic combo of support for abortion and yet opposition to the death penalty. Surely it is the guilty rather than the innocent who deserve execution?”

Midwife: a baby was born alive after abortion every three weeks’

In one hospital:

“In 1985, one midwife is reported to have confirmed that her unit had ‘one [live] baby born under 28 weeks every three weeks’ (Nursing Times, 24 July 1985, p. 5). Another midwife confirmed that viable births resulting from abortions were posing serious problems, not least that of forcing midwives and medical staff to ‘decide how to dispose of live babies’

Woman planning abortion avoids x-ray machine

In an article featuring women’s stories of abortion, one woman describes how she protected her baby even though she was planning to abort him or her:

“Ironically (everything seems ironic in retrospect), my sister’s wedding was the day before the abortion-in Colorado. I flew out there knowing I was pregnant, knowing my marriage was failing, knowing I was having an abortion Monday morning. I refused to go through the security gates at the airport because I was pregnant. Despite my plan for an abortion 72 hours later, I was protecting my baby.”

Abortionist: men don’t want to date me

A practicing abortionist wrote the following in an article:

“The party-goers have clearly talked before I arrived: Colleen is going to be here tonight. Did you know she does abortions? I am a symbol before I even ring the doorbell.

How could I expect the men I date to be any different? In the past, I’ve tried every strategy: Burying references in my online dating profile; waiting until the third date to talk about the specifics of my work; carefully dropping the word “abortion” in conversation and watching for a reaction.

And there’s always a reaction. Every man I have ever dated — no matter how liberal or open-minded he professes to be — has flinched, looked away, or gone silent when I first tell him what I do….

In more instances than I’d like to recall, this has meant that a new relationship ends before it really starts. The majority of American adults support a woman’s right to an abortion, but it’s another matter to date someone who performs them.”

Colleen Krajewski “I used to be quiet about the fact that I perform abortions. Now I’m upfront.Washington Post July 10, 2017
