Woman who kept late-in-life baby has no regrets

From a woman who became pregnant late in life, after her other children were grown. She considered abortion, but had her baby. She has no regrets and says:

“We have found special pleasure in having our “bonus baby” now that her siblings are away. We have the kind of close conversation with her at dinner that was rarely possible when our noisy threesome was at the table.”… Bonus baby and her mother “enjoy an easy intimacy, her questions about the adult world recalling those I asked in my own girlhood as an only child. She loves to report the responses over the telephone to her brothers and sister for verification and delights, as I do, in the abundant love she receives from them even at a distance… Older mother and young daughter, our relationship is rich – unsettling and satisfying, as is any relationship bound by love.”

Study with aborted babies “raised no eyebrows”

Pro-Life author William Brennan wrote about a study that was done using aborted babies:

14 weeks

“At a combined meeting of the American Pediatric Society and the Society for Pediatric Research held in San Francisco, California (May 1973) Dr. Peter Adam and colleagues presented a paper containing details about the procedure used to cut off the heads of aborted babies for the purpose of studying fetal brain metabolism. Some of the leading pediatricians and pediatric surgeons in America heard Dr. Adam’s disclosures “No one even raised an eyebrow” among those in attendance.”

This was written about in “Post-Abortion Fetal Study Stirs Storm” Medical World News June 8, 1973, p 21

Babies in the womb react to pain, says pediatrician

14 week legs
14 week legs

Pediatrician Dr. HMI Liley:

“When doctors first began invading the sanctuary of the womb, they did not know that the unborn baby would react to pain” just as “violently as a baby lying in a crib” by “flaying out his tiny arms, wiggling his entire body, and crying.”

Abortion researcher: Almost every couple’s relationship ended

Linda Bird Francke interviewed men and women in abortion clinics and after their abortions for her book The Ambivalence of Abortion. She says:

“In my research, almost every relationship between single people broke up either before or after the abortion. What had been pleasure became pain. What had been frivolous became heavy. Sex, which had brought intimacy and relief, brought memories of pain and guilt.”

Linda Bird Francke The Ambivalence of Abortion (New York: Random House, 1978) 47

We can define a “fetus” any way we wish

Pro-Choice apologist Dr. Garrett Hardin:

“Whether the fetus is or is not a human being is a matter of definition, not fact: and we can define it any way we wish….

It would be unwise to define the fetus as human (hence tactically unwise ever to refer to the fetus as an “unborn child.)”

Garrett Hardin “Abortion – Or Compulsory Pregnancy?” Journal of Marriage and the Family 30 (May 1968): 250-251

can we simply define this baby as not a human being, and then kill him?

Doctor on high number of complications at Planned Parenthood

Dr. E. Hakim-Elahi, Elmhurst, New York, on the high number of Planned Parenthood’s reported complications in 2003, in a letter to Ob.Gyn News:

“If I were to receive such a report from a surgical abortion clinic, I would recommend to health authorities that the clinic be immediately shut down…. Medical abortion with the present drug regimen is unsafe….The patient will bleed for the next 4 weeks or more, and may transmit HIV (if positive) to others; become anemic; require blood transfusions or surgical abortion; or get sepsis and die. This makes no sense. . . We are allowing women to get maimed and to die. . .”

E. Hakim-Elahi “Letter to the editor”. Ob Gyn News (Feb. 15, 2005):6.

Records of complications of abortions are poorly collected

In an article comparing the safety of the abortion pill vs. the safety of surgical abortion:

“Dr. Cynthia Summers, a spokeswoman for Mifeprex’s manufacturer, Danco Laboratories, said a comparison of the risks of medical and surgical abortion was unfair because, she said, reports of problems with surgical procedures were poorly collected.”

Abortion clinic owner falsified records

Carol Everett, a former abortion clinic owner, says that while in the abortion business,

“I would not hesitate to help cover up severely mishandled medical procedures- even to the point of falsifying medical records… I would continue to sell abortions, despite the potential consequences for the women involved…”
