Mother of two children with down syndrome speaks

Ashley Engele is a mom of two whose oldest child has Down syndrome, found out she was pregnant with her third baby, who also had downs. She never considered abortion. Her first child,  Rilynn, is now 4 1/2 years old. She writes:

“Rilynn is just like any other precocious 4-year-old girl. She goes to preschool, loves Trolls, Barbie dolls and her “typical” younger sister. They are best friends, they love each other fiercely, and also have the classic sibling rivalry. We fight over what outfit she’s going to wear, or how she’s going to wear her hair for the day. Most of all, she loves other kids and babies. ….

We know how when we’re having a bad day, one smile from Rilynn can completely turn it around.

After her third child was diagnosed in utero:

“Down syndrome is a beautiful journey we had never planned on, but would never dream of leaving because we know what it’s like. We treasure our experiences at face value, we slow down and enjoy the little moments in life, we celebrate every single milestone (big or small), and most of all, we celebrate life, because our lives are better with Down syndrome in it.”

Abortionist says telling women about fetal pain is “torment” to them

Abortionist Dave Turok, of Salt Lake City, talking about a bill that would require abortionists to tell their late-term abortion patients that their babies can feel pain:

“Turok said telling those women their fetuses feel pain is heaping torment upon torment. “These women have real pain,” he said. “They did not come to this decision easily. Creating another barrier for them to get the medical care they need is really unfair.”

According to The Salt Lake Tribune :

“The draft law allows doctors to remain silent in emergencies, cases of rape or incest or if the abortion is meant to prevent the birth of a child with “grave defects.”

Doctors tell woman to abort, but her baby is born healthy

Linda Serrano, of Bakersfield, CA tells her story:

“I received a German measles shot two weeks before I got pregnant with my first child. I called three doctors, and none of them would accept me as a patient. They all wanted me to get an abortion. I went to a fourth doctor, and she also advised me to have an abortion, that my chance of having a healthy baby was 0%. When I told her no, she said, ‘Well then you will have a deformed baby, and you’d better tell your husband.’ I was in tears by this time. My husband said, ‘God loves all people the same. Then I asked God to have mercy on us, and heal my child. I told Jesus that if He didn’t, that would be okay, because I knew He would be in control. I would love my baby no matter what. “I’m very happy to say that my baby girl, Angela, is perfectly healthy! While the doctor was stitching me up, she said I still should have had an abortion!”

Pro-Abortion reverend “put women at ease” about their abortions

Rev. Jesse Lyons of Riverside Church was part of the Clergy Consultation Service, which referred women to illegal abortions before Roe v. Wade. All of those in the service were pastors or rabbis who were pro-abortion.

He describes the “counseling” he gave abortion minded women:

“I tried to put a woman at ease, to make her recognize abortion was not a matter of eternal damnation,” Lyons explained.”

Study shows many women seeking sex-selection abortions are abused

A survey was done of  South Asian immigrant women recruited from a clinic that provides sex determination tests. This clinic was located in the US but catered to Asian women who wanted to find out the sex of their babies to have an abortion if the child was a girl.

It found that one third of the women cited past physical abuse and neglect related specifically to their failing to produce a male child.

Doctor describes seeing abortion complications

Dr. Dennis Conneen, emergency room doctor in Orange County, California:

“The disadvantage girls have that go to a clinic for an abortion is the clinics close at 5:00 PM. Some girls travel to other counties to have abortions, and it’s difficult for them to get help from that clinic after hours if problems arise. So those women who do have complications come in on evenings and weekends into the emergency room.

Almost every month in the emergency room where I work, we see a woman coming in with a medical complication resulting from abortion. Out of those cases, I would say that one out of three requires hospitalization or a minor surgical procedure called a D&C. In some cases, the abortion is incomplete and there are pieces of the fetus in the uterus. These women usually experience a couple of weeks of cramping and bleeding after the abortion and decide to come in. Sometimes all they need is some blood and other fluids. Other times they need a D&C to scrape the uterus out.

One case involved a 24-year-old woman who came into the emergency room complaining of bleeding and cramps related to an abortion that she had had one week prior. She called the doctor who performed the abortion, and he said the abortion was complete and there should be no problems. He figured that the amount of tissue that he removed was sufficient for the age of the fetus. But sometimes, women do not give the correct conception date to the doctor who is performing the abortion. I took a look and saw the fetus’s head still inside of her. The baby’s head was as large as a golf ball! So I pulled it out.… You could see the trauma caused to the fetus by the abortion process. It was really beat up.”

Abortionist will do an abortion up until labor starts

In a hearing on abortion that took place in Brisbane, abortionist Dr. Carol Portmann says:

“Basically, for a late termination of pregnancy you just do not induce a baby: you must do a procedure where the baby passes away….

If we are talking about a late termination, then it also means you would want to have an evaluation of that person’s social and psychiatric wellbeing. If there is something wrong with the baby, then you need to be sure that what is wrong with the baby has an absolutely certain outcome. That takes time. Our feeling about it as well is that it is not something that you would choose to do at 39½ weeks with a woman in labour. One of the things we counsel a person is that, if our decision with you is not made before you go into labour, then we are not doing the procedure.”

The process “so the baby passes away” is an injection of poison (digoxin or Potassium chloride) into the baby to kill him or her before inducing labor.
