Victim of Incest Regrets Abortion of her Daughter

Girl who was a victim of incest and forced to have an abortion:

“Throughout the years I have been depressed, suicidal, furious, outraged, lonely, and I felt a sense of loss.… Even if my daughter had been put up for adoption, instead of killed, some of the pain would not be present. Often, I cry. Cry because I could not stop the attacks. Cry because my daughter is dead. And I cry because it still hurts. They say time heals all wounds. This is true. But it doesn’t heal the memories, at least not for me.… As you can see, the abortion, which was to be “in my best interest” just has not been. As far as I can tell, it only “saved their reputations,” “solved their problems,” and “allowed their lives to go merrily on.”

David C Reardon Aborted Women: Silent No More (Westchester, Illinois: Crossway books, 1987) 217

Abortion does not resolve the trauma of incest- often, it is used to cover up the crime. Abortion clinics have done abortions on young women and sent them back to their abusers.

10-Year Old Victim of Incest Sent Home from Clinic to Face More Abuse

“It was not an obvious case of child abuse, she came in with her mother. It was legal. It was out front.”

Abortionist Benjamin Graber on why he didn’t report the case of a pregnant 10-year-old to authorities. The girl came in for an abortion, and he performed it on her and send her home. Two years later, the girl’s father was arrested for child molestation.

Kevin Allen, “Doctor May Face Inquiry Unreported Abortion May Have Broken Law” Sun Sentinel Jan 11, 1989

This is yet another case where a young victim of incest was brought the abortion clinic, aborted, and then sent home to deal with more abuse. Abortion is seldom in the best interest of an incest patient, as it disposes of the evidence of the crime and keeps the girl trapped in her dysfunctional family.

Rapist’s mother takes 12-year-old girl for an abortion

The mother of a young girl told the following story:

“My child was provided [with] alcohol, raped and then taken out of the state by a stranger to have an abortion. This stranger turned out to be the mother of the adult male  who provided the alcohol and then raped my daughter while she was unconscious.  The rapist’s mother arranged and paid for an abortion….to destroy evidence that my 12 year old daughter had been raped. “

Chrystal Lane was testifying in support of the Child Custody Protection Act, House, Op., Cit 58. which would make it illegal for anyone but a minors’ parents to take her across state lines for an abortion.

William Saletan Bearing Right: How Conservatives Won the Abortion War (Berkley: California: University of California Press, 2004) 242

There have been many cases where abortion clinics, such as those affiliated with Planned Parenthood, did abortions on underage girls impregnated by adult men without reporting possible child abuse.

Rape and the taking of life

From a woman who had two abortions, one after rape:

“Had I been told the truth about the risks that I was taking with my body and about the developing persons inside of me, I know that I would not have made the decision to destroy life. There are those people who can deliberately take the life of another person, but that is not my nature. Yet I must live with the truth, because that is what I have done.

I still feel that I probably couldn’t have loved that child conceived of rape, but there are so many people who would have loved that baby dearly. The man who raped me took a few moments of my life, but I took that innocent baby’s entire life. That is not justice, as I see it.”

Incest victim on abortion

From a woman who was a victim of incest and never got pregnant, but had an abortion later, and regretted it.

“I really feel sorry for women who have had abortions. It’s never a good thing, not even in the case of incest. I’ve been through incest with my natural father – though I never became pregnant. Even in the case of incest, abortion is wrong. It would only hurt the girl more, physically and emotionally.”

Post-aborton woman sees aborted baby in a hospital lab

From a woman who worked in a hospital lab. She had had several abortions.

“Working there [in a hospital lab] also gave me the chance to see the effects of an abortion. I walked in the lab one day and saw these big plastic bowls with lids on the table. As I walked toward them, the lab technician said, “I don’t think you want to look in there.” So I picked it up and looked in underneath, and I saw a baby floating in there. It had little legs, fingers, toes, eyes. It shocked me, but I set it back down. I was so hardened at that point that I just didn’t let it get to me. But I know did something to me; I’ve never been able to get that picture out of my mind.”

Dr. Phillip Ney on Children with Aborted Siblings

From author Teresa Tomeo:

“…. there are psychological effects on siblings of aborted children. Dr. Philip Ney, a Canadian psychologist, has studied these effects for decades. He tells a story of a woman who came to him for counseling for her six-year-old child who was having nightmares, wetting the bed, and suffering from separation anxiety. Dr. Ney, in his interview with the mother, asked her about any pregnancy losses. She told him about two abortions that she had prior to giving birth to this child. Then in a separate interview with the child, Dr. Ney asked the child to draw a picture of her family. She was an only child, and yet she drew a picture with her mom, dad, brother, sister, and herself. She had a sense of the missing siblings.”

Catholics for Free Choice on Men and Abortion

Catholics for Free Choice (A pro-abortion Catholic group) members Marjorie Reiley Maguire and Daniel C. Maguire gave the following advice to women seeking abortions:

“Nor is [abortion] a question of the man’s rights. You have no moral obligation to consult him or to consider his desire that you continue the pregnancy.”

Abortion is “Death Experience” for Men

University of Maryland psychologist Arnold Medvene:

“Abortion is one of the major death experiences that men go through. It resurrects very important, very primitive issues, memories, and feelings.”

man’s grief after abortion

unborn baby at just 6 weeks

From a pro-choice writer who did not understand a man’s guilt after his partner had an abortion:

“He knew rationally that it hadn’t been a baby at all but in embryo too tiny to see with the naked eye – so why was he so sad?”
