Woman Prepped for Abortion, Still Unsure

From an interview with a postabortion woman:

“When Donna arrived at the clinic with her boyfriend there were forms to fill out. The forms asked “Do you want counseling?” Donna replied, “Yes.” The forms also asked “Are you sure you want this abortion?” Donna replied, “No.”

Donna told me, “I wanted to know the facts about abortion. I wanted to know how it would affect me physically and mentally. I wanted to know if the fetus was human.”

Before Donna received any counseling, she, along with the other women, first paid for the abortion, had her blood test taken, was told to undress and given a hospital gown to wear. In other words, she was “prepped” for an abortion she had indicated on the form she wasn’t even sure she wanted!”

Abortionist “Proud” of Doing 5,000 Abortions

“The thing I like about the procedure [abortion] is that… When you feel like you are indeed a talented abortionist, you can get through the difficult cases… It’s getting through a difficult canal; it’s dealing with a fibroid in the uterus; knowing what to do if you have an infection on the cervix, or if someone has put laminaria in there… When they really shouldn’t have because the cervix was friable, then knowing how to do this with such delicate precision that you don’t injure the cervix. Those kinds of things help me feel like I have really mastered something that I’m very proud of… In the past year, I’ve probably done close to 5000 procedures, which is more than many people do in 10 years of work.”

It is important to understand that while abortion does involve the taking of a human life because all life that is in and of a human being is human life in order to call it murder we would have to believe that prenatal life in the early stages of pregnancy is a human person and that there were absolutely no reasons that justified the taking of that life … [However], you may feel you have reasons that justify abortion regardless of your beliefs about personhood.

Clinic Administrator Surprised by Patients’ Reactions to Abortion

From former abortion clinic administrator Charlotte Taft:

“I was shocked by how many who seemed fine during the (abortion) procedure were now having thoughts and feelings that no one had anticipated.”

The biggest thing she noted was that women felt sadder than they had anticipated.

Taft went on to say “They wondered, How can I feel sad about something I chose?”

Former Employee of Dr. Tiller Speaks

Luhra Tivis worked for late term abortionist Dr. George Tiller. She says:

“… they were all crowded together in one basement room in full view of each other, bleeding and delivering their poor dead fetuses. It is a nightmare, macabre scene.”

She said that 95% of the abortions were performed on healthy pregnancies.

Abortions at Dr. Tiller’s were often done in the third trimester by injecting the baby with poison and then having the woman go through labor to “give birth” to her dead child. Tiller cremated the bodies of the babies in a full size crematorium, the same type that was used in funeral homes. The smoke from the baby’s burning bodies could be smelled outside the clinic.

One pro-choice feminist said the following

“Even feminists, even pro-choice activists can be heard to say, “Well, of course abortion is a terrible thing, but it’s better than…” or “Sometimes it’s necessary,” or “It is the better of two terrible choices.” Once we say yes, of course abortion is terrible, we have conceded the question, for expediency is not a sufficient moral counter to evil. OB/GYN Talks About Abortion’s Emotional Harm

Marvin E Eastland, a practicing OB/GYN, commented on a program which discussed the trauma suffered by women having abortions:

“I am an obstetrician and gynecologist and have had many dealings with this very situation in my practice.… I have had patients who had abortions before coming to see me. These people are the most miserable. My heart goes out to the woman who is suffering so much from the decision she has made years before. Many are seeing me because they are now infertile.

The guilt expressed is tremendous… They grieve when, if they do conceive and then hear the baby’s heartbeat with the ultrasonic instruments, they realize that the abortion they had previously was likewise a tiny baby with a heartbeat. The trauma they experienced is overwhelming. The act of the abortion is not just the removal of pregnancy tissue from the uterus. There is more, much more, to the procedure than the pro-abortion counselors ever tell the person who is trying to make a decision. Once done, the damage is very difficult to live with.”

Planned Parenthood: Children Are a Nuisance

“[Children at our office] are both a nuisance and a safety/liability risk. Children will not be allowed in any patient service area, and they may not be left unattended in the waiting room. If a client arrives with a child or children but without a caretaker, her appointment will be rescheduled. For obvious public relations reasons, we will not be posting the policy, but we need to translate it into a message that can be given to patients when making an appointment over the phone.”
