Mother of baby aborted due to disability describes her partner’s grief

A couple aborted their baby because he or she would’ve been handicapped. In this quote, the mother is talking about her partner’s reaction:

“I think it’s real for him, but there’s just a real difference in how the experience feels. I mean, he doesn’t experience it in the same way, it wasn’t as much of a personal loss, it was a different kind of loss for him. He’s very closed off about his own emotions, and it’s something that he doesn’t articulate, and he doesn’t want to articulate, he prefers to get away from it. He grieves differently… I kept a journal the whole pregnancy, and I wanted to burn that journal to finish it that way… And he couldn’t do it, he just couldn’t do it. The most he could do was read it privately – he absolutely had to do it by himself – and then he had to put it away, he couldn’t burn it… We approach life differently; I just have to respect his way of doing things.”

This quote shows that both men and women sometimes grieve after abortion. Abortion is not the easy, quick solution it seems to be, whether the couple is aborting because they do not want a baby or aborting because they do not want their disabled baby in particular.

Pres. of NOW: “abortion pill the most significant medical advance in human history”

Molly Yard, former president of NOW, said that the abortion pill was:

“…[Perhaps even] the most significant medical advance in human history and the symbol of a brighter future for women everywhere.”

This quote shows how out of touch with reality some pro-choice leaders are. To think that the abortion pill, which kills babies (and sometimes women) is the greatest medical advance in human history is incredibly skewed thinking. The abortion pill is more valuable than the discovery of antibiotics, which has saved hundreds of millions of lives? Greater than cutting edge cancer treatments that prolong life and eradicate the disease in some people? Greater than the elimination of smallpox and other deadly diseases, greater than vaccines which protect children from all kinds of dangerous illnesses, greater than the advances in mental health care that has allowed mentally ill people to live normal lives rather than being institutionalized? Greater than advances which have allowed AIDS patients to live fuller, richer lives?

Her statement is amazing. Instead of all these advances, the greatest advance in human history is the ability to kill babies like the one below in a way that’s extremely painful and difficult for women (you can read horror stories from women who took the drug here)

Abortionist: the baby’s soul appears when the mother accepts him

Month 5 – 20 weeks. McMahon performed abortions at this stage

McMahon performed partial-birth abortions when they were legal. It’s interesting what he says here – one wonders what gives a woman so much power that she can create a soul just by her attitude and opinion. If the woman never accepts the baby, if she still continues to reject the baby after he or she is born, does the baby still not have a soul?

Molly Yard on “viable human beings”

Molly Yard, then president of the National Organization for Women, gave an interview with New Dimensions magazine about when a “fetus” becomes human being:

Q: When do you believe the fetus becomes a viable human being?

A: If you read the medical knowledge, 26 weeks is probably the earliest. As a matter of fact, I was just reading figures that indicate that a fetus born before 30 weeks has almost no chance of making it and, if it does, it is going to suffer all its life from all kinds of problems.

Q: Would you recommend 30 weeks is a cutoff point for allowing abortions?

A: I am not recommending anything. I am saying that Roe V Wade was very properly decided. It says that women have a constitutional right to control their reproductive lives, that they have the absolute right to choose it in the 1^st and 2^nd trimesters, and in the 3^rd trimester the state has an interest

First of all, does it really make sense to say that this baby below (28 weeks) is not a person …

But this baby (32 weeks) is a person?

What’s the huge difference between the two? There’s not much difference on a developmental level, though one does have stronger lungs than the other. Both are capable of surviving outside a woman’s womb. Of course, Molly Yard’s statistics on when the baby can survive are outdated –In fact, they weren’t even true in 1990. Today, the survival rate of babies at 27 weeks is 90% or higher. babies as young as 21 weeks have survived being born prematurely.

Roe V Wade did allow restrictions on abortion in the thirdtrimester, but these restrictions could only go into effect if they had an exception for the “health” of the mother. Doe v. Bolton, a companion case to Roe V Wade that is lesser-known, defined health in very broad terms, including emotional health, meaning that such a law (banning third trimester abortions) is toothless and cannot truly be enforced– The woman could make the case that the abortion would be detrimental to her emotional well-being.

Note also that Molly Yard is not prepared to ban abortion, even after, in her opinion, the “fetus” becomes a human being

“Why spend $50,000 to save one child?” what is life worth?

From a pregnant woman who was having her baby tested for Down Syndrome, with the intention of aborting if the child had it:

“I think it’s kind of like triage, or like euthanasia. There aren’t enough resources in the world. We’d have to move, to focus our whole family on getting a handicapped kid a better deal… Why spend $50,000 to save one child? And what sort of a life would it have? What sort of life would we have?”

Chinese twins aborted at nine months due to one child policy

A report presented to a Congressional Committee told the following story about forced abortion in China. The babies in this case were nine months along, twins, who were aborted against the mother’s wishes:

“On December 13, 2007 Mrs. Dong (34 years old) from Wutong Town, Yongtai County, Fuchou City was pregnant with unplanned twin babies for almost 9 months. She was working in Ganzhe Town, Minhou County, Fuchou Province together with her husband. Unfortunately, her pregnancy was discovered by the local Family-Planning Office. At about 2 o’clock in the afternoon she was taken to the local health center forcibly. Without the agreement or signature of Mrs. Dong or her family, she was held by more than 10 people and injected Ethacridine Lactate at about 5 o’clock. The family-planning officials declared that they would be responsible for any death. The twin babies struggled for a long time in their mother’s uterus and died in the end. Until 9:30 in the evening of December 14, she was still waiting to induce the dead babies. The local government blocked the event tightly and forbid anyone interviewing the victim. Until now her health condition is still unknown…”

Early Options Abortion Clinic Distorts the Truth about Early Abortion

Poor abortion clinics. There is so much information on the Internet that it’s hard to keep women in the dark anymore. You can Google fetal development and see that the heart of the baby begins beating at 21 days. It’s becoming more widely known. So one abortion clinic, Early Options, which claims that an embryo “doesn’t exist” that early (one wonders what they are aborting then) says the following on their website:

“If there is no embryo, why do they say there is a heartbeat? At seven weeks of pregnancy, the cells that will become the embryo start to cluster inside the gestational sac. These cells can be seen on ultrasound, but would not be visible to the naked eye. At this time, the cells that are determined to later form the heart start to “beat.” An ultrasound technician will often interpret the beating cells as a ‘heartbeat’ long before a heart develops.”

That’s right, a heartbeat isn’t a heartbeat – it’s just cells beating… Makes perfect sense. By the way, below is a picture of an unborn baby at 7 weeks after conception.

just in case they’re referring to an embryo at 7 weeks since the woman’s last period, 2 weeks before conception, here is a 5 week old embryo – it’s not as recognizably human, but it’s clearly an embryo, not simply a collection of cells. You can clearly see the heart of the baby.

Is that a heart or just “cells determined to be a heart?”

It’s amazing how abortion clinics distort the truth sometimes.

15% of abortion patients develop pelvic inflammatory disease, says physician

According to one physician, writing in the British Journal of Venereal Disease:

“Infection in the womb and tubes often does permanent damage. The fallopian tube is a fragile organ, a very tiny bore tube. If infection injures it, it often seals shut. The typical infection involving these organs is pelvic inflammatory disease, or PID. This condition affects nearly 15% of all those who submit to induced abortion.”

In this excerpt from the testimony at one of the partial-birth abortion ban trials, an abortionist is asked what kills the baby during a late term trimester abortion.

Q. Now, the actions that you just discussed, separating the cord, crushing the skull, or disarticulation, do you know which of any of these would be immediately fatal?

A. No. I have no idea, because I don’t — I don’t know. –
